Had this in about a year now. Tilled the whole yard, added some topsoil, added some lawn starter with the seed and kept it watered for weeks. Once a week or two I would add some straight fertilizer. There was some grass, but there were several new types of weed not native to these parts that just took over and killed off the grass anew. I kept pulling them but they spread continuously. One of them adapts to weeding by spreading out in a web pattern a 1.5-2 ft. wide and breaks apart easy to prevent being pulled and easy spreading. I've filled trash cans with these weeds for about a year now and have just given up. I even re-tilled the yard again to start from scratch again, but they are quite clearly the dominant species. The weeds not the grass. I ended up spending hundreds of dollars and dozens of hours just trying to get that pretty green lawn and I'm filled with nothing but regret.

The jury is still out, but I saw grass spouting today!!! I am very excited since it has been at least two weeks when I patched these areas. I recently seeded the entire lawn including the patched areas and I have high hopes that the lawn will look great next spring!

Well, so far, I Have sowed about 8-10 pounds. That is all I can say as it has not germinated as yet. I bought it early as I wanted to spread it on the snow, which I did, and seeded again after the latest rains. If the weather stays warm, should germinate in about 15 days more or less.
