I currently have a post in ground @ 41 inches, is this too short or will it work?
We recommend a post 48" above ground, as this is the typical height for the arm to be properly anchored to the unit. You may be able to install the arm lower on the post, but I would recommend checking local by-laws for mailbox height requirements. Hello, the newspaper holder arm is all one unit- so you don't need to install it but you would need another arm for the mailbox to sit on.
With a lot of sun- does the grey color fade?

Can I use this post over an existing ?pipe? post? I?m trying to find a way to upgrade without ripping the current post out of the ground (which I?m sure has cement under it). I?m sure a wooden post is best but?
Yes, this item is meant to fit over a 4x4 wood post. The decorative sleeve requires 48" of the 4x4 to be exposed.
My existing post outside dimensions are 5 1/2 X 5 1/2. Will it fit on this post?
Hi Manny, this post is designed to fit over a pressure treated 4x4 post (measures 3.5"x3.5") so will not fit over your existing 5.5"x5.5" post. The only mail post that we have available that will fit over a "6x6" post would be our Liberty Style, Mayne Part number 5805-B.
Where can I get a light for the top of the post?
