This refrigerator has it’s pluses & minuses
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought thiis specific model due to its large freezer size and option to be able to switch the side that it opens from through a 3rd party home improvement store. The delivery scheduling was an issue and they never showed up thus I had to reschedule so my item came very late. I had no refrigerator for a month due to their mistake and it was infuriating to deal with them. Once they delivered, they refused to help switch the door for me so I had to do it myself. The process to change the door hinges is extremely frustrating and complicated. Took me well over 6 hours even with the correct tools. Pieces that you are supposed to remove broke off into the fridge and I can’t get them out, the door fell off so my new fridge was immediately dented and the butter receptacle plastic broke. One time I packed the freezer full after a wholesale store run and the motor got very loud. I realized that you have to leave some room in the back for the cold air to flow correctly so the freezer isn’t really as large as stated plus if you add an ice maker, there would be less room. I have had this fridge for a little bit and I already had to take a white oil based Sharpie to fill in spots where paint is wearing away. It’s easy to clean as the glass shelves are removable and there is a pretty spacious interior and the door holds a lot. It’s a nice, basic energy saving fridge.

Bought for the Simplicity, Purchased for the Name

My one complaint is the door seals that meet up with the unit do not hold in place and require constant adjustment. I have already made one call about this issue. Being a brand new unit, I was disappointed that this was happening after a few (4 months) of ownership.

Not as good as I expected from a Magtag!!

Great fridge!

Fridge failed and the warranty & service followed
The fridge, purchased in 2018, failed within a year of purchase and the multi-year warranty only covers the parts, not the diagnostics or labor. So, you need to shell out hundreds of dollars even if the item is covered under Maytag's "limited" warranty. Home Depot was of no use either.
