Taking accurate measurements in your home is critical when purchasing a new refrigerator. Here are step by step instructions on how to do it correctly.
Please ensure the following prior to delivery:
- Water connection kit required
- 110V-grounded, 3-prong electrical outlet
- Water valve (shutoff) within 6 ft. of hook up

Love the freezer space

Bought this fridge mostly because it is french door, has water and ice in the door, and perfectly fit the existing opening in our kitchen (most french door models I looked at were too wide And/or too tall). We had a traditional "freezer on top" fridge prior to this. It was a huge pain to get on my knees every time I needed something from the fridge and it did not fit the space very well (it was about a foot shorter then the opening). Also we went from 2 people in the house hold to 5 so we spend a lot more time loading and unloading the fridge.
Value wise, it wasn't great. The last SS french door fridge I bought for a different kitchen was significantly larger AND was about $1,000 cheaper. It also provided both cubed and crushed ice (this one only does cubed). However in that case I had a kitchen that didn't have the width and height constraints of my current one. Also I bought it from a place that does not do appliance delivery and it was an older model that was on clearance.
All that said, this is a huge improvement for my kitchen, and I'm happy with my purchase. It is much easier and faster to find and access food. Also the Ice and water in the door is a huge improvement (old fridge had a water spout INSIDE the fridge, and an ice maker that put ice into a tray).
Having installed and transported the last fridge I bought (which was a pain since it was just me), I had home depot deliver and install it. That went smoothly.

Biggest cu ft refrigerator that could fit
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our old refrigerator bit the dust and we needed to replace it. This Maytag was the largest one we could get through our back door, it’s only 28 inches deep with the doors off. The refrigerator looks great, looks well made, everything works, and it’s made in the USA. When running it is a little noisier then our old one, but shuts off, you don’t notice it after a while. I wish it came with just water in the door and put the ice maker in the freezer. The ice maker takes up a lot of space in the refrig. Some redesigning and I think you have a winner that fits anywhere. Get rid of the beverage cooler, give me more door shelves, give me small bins on the left door where the ice maker is. A forth door would be nice, since you have to open both French doors to get to the deli drawer and dump all the cold air out. We’ll make it work.

Great Features!

Really like the freezer on the bottom with the 2 side out drawers. The Maytag refrigerator is more quieter than our GE Cafe refrigerator at home.
