I used these to build a roof structure for a Tiki Bar at the suggestion of a friend. They look great and worked really well, lightweight is helpful too. I used an old dresser (about 5-1/2' wide x 18" in depth) mounted on a new base with wheels (also from HD). I drilled holes in the tree stakes on my drill press and bolted them to the dresser with carriage bolts. I also built the roof plane structure out of them. I covered the dresser and roof with bamboo fencing also from HD. They look really good as a Tiki Bar roof.

Pole is extremely brittle, splits easily when driving into ground. Breaks at ground level and top splits when driving. Pole is treated for termites and rot, but will break long before the bugs gets to pole. No choices Home Depot only has one brand.

They are standard tree stakes, I'd give them 5 stars if I could find any that don't have a slight bend or twist
