A: Hi Alias, The best way to cut our Tessera Subway Bordeaux would be to use a wet saw with a diamond tipped blade. We always recommend the use of a wet saw with a diamond tipped blade as it offers the best cut with the least chance of breakage. Since this tile contains glass, a trick to cutting the glass tiles is to put blue painter’s tape on top of it and mark on the tape where you want to cut. This will assist in any chipping you may encounter with even a new diamond-tipped blade. After you finish cutting the tiles, you would want to sand the edges to smooth them down as they will be very sharp. If you have any further questions, please give us a call at (800)-963-7652. Hope this helps!
A: Tiles are on a mesh backing so can be cut with a knife.
A: Hi DT, The location of your installation will help dictate what type of grout you should use. This mosaic should have 1/8” grout joints, and the space between each mosaic piece should be approximately 1/8” as well. When grout joints are going to be 1/8”, we encourage using unsanded grout on the wall and sanded grout on the floor. As this mosaic has a PEI rating of 0 and is intended for wall use only, we would recommend using unsanded grout. If you have any further questions, please give us a call at (800)-963-7652. Hope this helps!
A: Both sanded and non-sanded can be used. Sanded grout should be used for lines 1/8" or larger. Non-sanded grout should be used for lines 1/8" and smaller.
A: Yes the different tiles are all on the same plane, so the surface is flat, The glass tiles are very smooth the "stone" tiles have some very slight natural variations but overall smooth, We are very happy with look of it after the installation.
A: Yes, it does. Just be sure to seal the stones first and add sealant to the grout when grouting for easy maintenance. It’s a little time consuming on the front end but well worth it. This was my first time using tile and grout, but the people at Home Depot were wonderful showing me what I needed!
A: Hi Rivka, Yes, when installed our Tessera Subway Bordeaux creates a flat, even surface! Please be aware that although these create an even surface, there are two different materials on the mosaic. When wiping the mosaic down, there might be slightly more friction over the stone pieces when compared to the glass pieces. If you would like to determine if these tiles are right for you, we would recommend ordering samples! Please be aware that samples come adhered to 4.5”x5” sample cards which offer a color and texture sample, not a look at the whole mosaic. To be able to see the whole mosaic, we recommend ordering one sheet. Please note that variation in color, shade and texture are inherent characteristics of glazed tile. The pattern, shape, dye lot (color) and size of the actual tile received may vary. Home Depot offers a 90-day return policy on all unused items returned in the full quantity they were sold (in this situation, an each). If you have any further questions, please give us a call at (800)-963-7652. Hope this helps!
