Hi Karen, If you were looking to finish off our Twenties Circle, you could go with a pencil trim, a bullnose, or Schluter Trim which is offered at The Home Depot! We wouldn’t recommend using a pencil trim as the top option as some pencil trims do not have finished edges and may not be intended to be used as a finishing piece. If you would like to go with a bullnose, we have a few within the Twenties series https://thd.co/2N1HoNS. These have all of the same technical data as the Twenties Circle, so you would have no issue using these together in that regard! If the bullnose options aren’t what you’re looking for, we would suggest looking into Schluter Trim http://thd.co/1qBLqjw which can be found at The Home Depot. Please keep in mind that although the Twenties Circle and bullnoses are in the same series, they do not come from the same dye lot. As a result of this, the tones of white, black and grey might not match up perfectly. We would recommend purchasing a few pieces of the bullnoses, and a piece of Twenties Circle, and see if they work for your installation. Home Depot offers a 90-day return policy on all unused items returned in the full quantity they were sold. If you have any further questions, please give us a call at (800)-963-7652. Hope this helps!

Asked by Light August 20, 2018

Answer

Hi Kim, Yes, you can install our Twenties Circle underneath a washing machine! The break strength that is provided in the “Specifications” section doesn’t necessarily refer to the maximum weight capacity a tile can withstand after it has been installed. What this refers to, is how much weight an unsupported tile can hold; unsupported meaning that it has no subfloor beneath it. This is found by a factory test that puts weight in one small point on the tile until the tile breaks. The point used is even smaller than the small feet on a typical claw foot tub for reference. Even if the tile is strong enough, an installation is not strong without a proper subfloor. The setting material used also contributes to the strength of the installation. Installing on an unleveled floor could result in cracking. Being as a washing machine can be quite heavy, it is also best to assure that the joists and subfloor can support this type of weight. To determine if the joists and subfloor can support the weight, check out an online deflection calculator. If you don’t feel comfortable using one of the calculators, consult with a contractor to assist you with this. If you have any further questions, please give us a call at (800)-963-7652. Hope this helps!

Hi, A few questions about all the Merola ceramic tiles with the 7-3/4 in. X 7-3/4 in. X 1/4 in. ...

Asked by Reva April 21, 2018

Answer

Hi Reva, The dimensions that we provide on our products are meant to be as close to the actual tile dimensions as possible. In regards to our Twenties Circle, the actual tile dimensions are 7.75”x7.75”. If you are planning on using these in conjunction with an 8”x8” tile, there will be roughly a 1/4” size difference between the tiles. You can install our Twenties Circle underneath a vanity with a marble top with no issue. Being as marble can be quite heavy, it is also best to assure that the joists and subfloor can support this type of weight. To determine if the joists and subfloor can support the weight, check out an online deflection calculator. If you don’t feel comfortable using one of the calculators, consult with a contractor to assist you with this. Yes, our Twenties Circle would be great to be used as a surround for a tub/shower! These ceramic tiles have a glazed, matte finish that would be a great option for this type of installation. These tiles also have a DCOF (Dynamic Coefficient of Friction) rating of 0.42. To be considered slip resistant for DCOF, a tile must meet or exceed the required rating of 0.42. Twenties Circle has a low sheen finish to it, meaning that very little light will reflect off of it. I personally would call this tile more on the flat side than a high gloss white subway tile, such as our Park Slope Glossy White. This tile does not contain beige tones; Twenties Circle, along with the other Twenties series, consists of charcoal grey, grey, and off-white tones. If you would like to get a better idea of where these fall on a color scale, we offer one in our current photo content. If you click into the photo content that’s on the left side of our screen, towards the bottom of our content we provide a color scale. This should assist in giving you an idea of how close to true white, and true black, the tile is. If you’re on the fence about using this in your installation, we would suggest ordering a few pieces from the Home Depot! Please note that variation in color, shade and texture are inherent characteristics of glazed tile. The pattern, shape, dye lot (color) and size of the actual tile received may vary. Home Depot offers a 90-day return policy on all unused items returned in the full quantity they were sold (an each). If you ending up liking this tile and choose to order an additional quantity to finish the job, we want to let you know that you may experience issues with dye lot and caliber consistency. When tile is manufactured at different times, the color and size may vary slightly. We always encourage ordering 15% overage of patterned tile to account for cutting, future repairs, dye lot and caliber consistency, as we cannot guarantee dye lots and caliber over multiple orders. If you end up getting into a situation like this, please give us a call at (800)-963-7652 and we’ll see what we can do. If you have any further questions, please give us a call at (800)-963-7652. Hope this helps!

Hey There, This tile is one single 7.75” x 7.75” ceramic tile. There are no joined grout lines. The customer’s table that you are referring to does not have any cuts, that is the full size of the tile. If you were still unsure, you could purchase a single tile to see it in your home to make sure that it meets your design needs. Home Depot offers a 90-day return policy on all unused items returned in the full quantity that they are sold (an each) so you can see this tile “risk-free”. If you have any further questions, please give us a call at (800)-963-7652. Hope this helps!

Could this tile be used as a floor tile in a shower?

Asked by msdix July 13, 2017

Answers

Good Afternoon, Yes, this tile can be used as a floor of the shower. This tile is marginally skid resistant, making it safe for normal shower use. Also, it is glazed, so water will not absorb into the glazed surface. Once grouted, the grout lines will add more slip resistance. If you have any further questions, please give us a call at (800)-963-7652. Hope this helps!

Answer

Good Afternoon, There are no subway tiles intended to directly coordinate with this tile. However, our Metro Soho Matte White https://thd.co/2svKPCf can complement this tile nicely. Our Metro Soho series also offers matte light and dark grey options https://thd.co/2tM7ddD that can complement the geometric design. For a traditional 3” x 6” subway, you can explore our Park Slope series http://thd.co/1TzMPy6. Being as color and coordinating are matters of personal preference, we encourage that you see the items together prior to making a large purchase to see what you feel as though meets your design preferences the best. We offer samples of these items adhered to 4.5” x 5” sample cards and recommend ordering samples to compare these items prior to placing a large order. To see the whole tile, we recommend ordering one of each in the quantity they are sold. Home Depot offers a 90-day return policy on all unused items returned in the full quantity that they are sold (i.e. each or pack). Please note that variation in color, shade and texture are inherent characteristics of glass, glazed tile and stone. The actual material received may vary from this sample. The pattern, shape, dye lot (color) and size of the actual tile received may vary. If you have any further questions or want more information about ordering samples, please give us a call at (800)-963-7652. Hope this helps!

I was concerned about the quality of the tile and did not know what to expect since it was a printed tile. But it is very durable. You could not see any printing marks (dot patterns) at all. The white on it is not crisp white, but more like a warm white. The black part is not a deep rich black, but more like a charcoal black. Each tile lined up very well with each other. We used a 1/4 inch grout, but if we were to do it again, I would use 1/8. We covered the whole wall including the wall behind the toilet. Overall, I am so pleased with it. I was concerned with it being too strong/dominant, but it's been 5 months now and it still takes my breath away.
