Has anyone used this tile in two locations in their house? I am finishing up our bathroom and love the tile and the look. I over-ordered and am wondering if I should use the tile in my kitchen as a backsplash or in our basement laundry room or return the additional cases. I don't want to over-do the look. We have a 1920's arts and craft style house. Any thoughts?
Asked by: Cons
I used this in my bathroom and love it. In my personal opinion I wouldn't use it in another area, as I feel it will lose its wow factor if over used. I would recommend going with another pattern from the same company for maybe one or more area just to help unify the classic look of the home, but not necessarily the same in several rooms. Thats my thought.

Is there something I need to apply to the finished laid tiles to make the colors brighter? My tiles look dull.

Asked by: CN
I personally like the matte look but maybe putting a sealer that could darken the grey and brighten the white. I used an emerald green on the walls that makes the floor pop

Twenties Classic 7-3/4 in. x 7-3/4 in. Ceramic Floor and Wall Tile (11 sq. ft. / case) is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 277.

We were looking for a bathroom tile to go with our Art Deco themed bath remodel instead of using typical black and white hex tile. This tile fit the bill perfectly and the quality was excellent for the price. The tile is more of an off-white and dark gray and gives the look of expensive encaustic handmade cement tile at a fraction of the cost. I like the way four tiles come together to form the larger decorative pattern. Also, I feel that a medium gray grout (we used pewter) looks better than white or black (charcoal) grout which would have been too dark.

Used dark charcoal grout which did stain the white part of the tile if you didn't wipe it off fairly quickly - so just be aware if using dark grout. The pattern makes it a little more difficult to install (you just have to pay attention as you lay tiles), but this was only my second tile job and I had no issues. Mimics cement tile - which is much more costly. Great product.

I was a little wary to purchase these tiles just because I wanted a black and white bathroom and knew these tiles were called "charcoal gray". However, the numerous positive reviews and pictures convinced me to try, and boy am I glad I did. Our bathroom floor is BEAUTIFUL and everyone who sees it can't stop talking about it! We used 3/16" spacers and charcoal gray grout. These tiles look just as great as the hand-painted tiles I originally looked at, but for a fraction of the price! I am so pleased with this purchase and will definitely be buying from Home Depot again because of the superior quality with the incredible price! Definitely recommend!

There is no other option out there that closely resembles encaustic cement tile and would highly suggest this brand and tile!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this classic style at a reasonable price Was hooked on the look of encaustic tile for my kitchen backsplash, but worried about the difficulty of install due to the thicker tile, maintenance over time since they have to be sealed and of course, the cost. Found this pattern that was very similar to the $8 per tile cement tile I was considering. Ordered this instead and couldn't be happier with the result. Only issue was with shipping - about 10 of the tiles I ordered came in broken which I didn't discover until my contractor started work. Had to order more and wait for the replacement pieces to come in. Recommend over ordering and returning any you don't use.

As you can see in the photo the tile on the right is light grey vs the darker charcoal colored tile on the left. This is not a subtle difference! We had to over buy the tile in-order to get a consistent amount of darker tiles to complete the install.

It is a focal point in the kitchen. Tenants and buyers loved it. Will be completing a sixth kitchen in the next month with this same backsplash. Also used coordinating striped tiles as a fireplace surround and this pattern as a hearth in condo with the tile backsplash. Very custom look at modest price.
