The stitch screw is designed to connect your roof panels where they overlap. The longer screws offered are self tapping, which makes the installation much quicker. The stitch requires predrilling a hole.
Hi Ken - This is not close to being black. I would suggest requesting a color chip sample from one of our 21 manufacturing branches across the United States. Use our branch locator below and call your branch and request a sample. If you want a solid black look, then we do offer black stitch and woodscrews however you would need to order these through your local Home Depot ProDesk. http://www.metalsales.us.com/ms/contact/branch-locator
You will have to contact the ProDesk at your local Home Depot Store. They can Special Order the 1" screws.
In the "valley" (flats of the panel). Fasten at the ends of the panel (highside and lowside), one screw on both sides of each major rib, 8 total. For the field of the panel, 1 screw on one side of each major rib, 5 total across. Spacing is typically 2' max but it depends on the building size and shape as well as local building codes.
