The instructions say bead tape is required on top and bottom of the closure strip. Yet the closure strip has adhesive on the bottom flat side. So is bead tape really needed on that side?

during, it has a sticky glue strip that would be difficult to try to slide into the space afterward. Plus the panel compresses the strip a bit I don't think you could do it after.

Did the person that invented this product ever use it while installing a roof? I DOUBT IT. The "self-stick" should be on the top so you can attach the rib to the panel before you install it. Or do away with the "self-stick" altogether so you can simply slide the rib in to place before you put your last row of screws in. I have 12 more panels to install and I think I'll buy a roll of "2-sided" tape and try taping the rib to the panel end before I place the panel. I'll still have to fuss with peeling off the tape on the flat side of the rib after I get in place.

This product is OK if you follow the recommendation to use double side tape and secure it to the panel and then place it and the panel in the desired location. However, this still leaves the issue of interlocking the ends of the strips. The strip's adhesive is extremely sticky, once touched down it can not be pulled back up without breaking the closure strip. I tried to place the strip where intended and then place the panel on top; it was a real challenge to get the correct spacing of the closure strip ridges at the exact locations to match the panel ribs. I did all the roofing panel installation by my self; I believe it would take two people to properly place the panels if the closure strip was adhered to the panel first. Like I said once the closure strip glue touches something, its very difficult to shift or pull up and move. Maybe the answer is to make up a gauge jig to enable making prefect spacing of the ribs when sticking the closure strip in place, that is, don't tape them to the panels. This approach would allow one to keep placing two strips down prior to placing each panel. I believe this is necessary to properly interlock the ends of the strips; difficult to do once the panel is placed. Bottom line, I learned a few things about installation that I would apply on the next roofing project, if I have one.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Used for interior metal siding in work shop. The closure material has the glue on the wall side. That is fine you can get it stuck on the building in the right position to match the ribs. Would be much easier if the closure material was configured such that you could glue it to the metal siding before the siding is installed. That's why I gave it 3 stars.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Glue on Wrong side Complete agree with the reviewer who said the glue was on the wrong side. It would have worked so much better to glue it to the metal panel and then position the metal panel correctly. It is very hard to put metal roofing on a steep roof, by yourself, to began with. After fiddling with this, trying to line them up correctly so the my next metal panel fit properly, I decided they were worth the extra difficulty and increase in life threatening falls. They are in the garbage!
