A:  Our gate was randomly opening as well. We realized it was our neighbors electric powered gate, about 240' down the street that was activating our solar powered gate. This also wore down our battery quickly. We changed the frequency codes and it worked.

A:  Hello Enygma, Depending on how large the riding mower is, the wired vehicle sensor could be activated. To ensure the gate is not opened by a riding mower, I would recommended using digital keypads (model #'s MMKPD or FM137-PED) for entry and exiting of your property. This would enable you to give a specific entry and exit code to your lawn maintenance crew. Thank you,

A:  Yes. A lawnmower of any size will set it off. But only expect the sensor to work for a few months before needing to be replaced or repaired.

A:  If the unit is working, the gate will stay open for all of the cars as long as they are on or moving. When it works, it is great. Don;t expect it to keep working for more than a few months though.

A:  BigW, Thank you for posting your question. When using a vehicle exiting sensor, the gate will stay open for as long as you have the auto close time function set to. The auto close time can be adjusted from 3 to 120 seconds. If another car approaches the gate opening sensor while the gate opener is attempting to close, the gate would simply open back up. If a car leaves your property and 10 seconds later another car leaves your property while the gate gate is in the fully opened position, the auto close time would just reset to the time you have it adjusted to.
