Mighty Mules SMT571W-ACP Automatic Gate Opener kit will enable us to open our new single gate from up to 1/2 a mile away using the smart phone app, wont have to walk a long driveway to let delivery folks in. This model does even better by including 2 remotes for our vehicles and comes with the connectivity kit. We will be using this with the solar panel Model #FM123 so connecting to a power source wont be needed. I had done some comparisons before choosing on a opener by Mighty Mule and these are the best in the industry, you cant find better for performance.

Mighty Mule comes into the smartphone age with this new model. Remote controls can operate both your gate and your garage door opener. Now you can control your gate with your phone too so you don’t have to be there to open your gate for someone. A good brand name I’ve used before that lasts for years. Installation will take some time and possibly some help, maybe a bit of welding. A good quality gate opener at a reasonable price.

Will not open if wind is blowing
I bought the heavy gate opener mm571w so I would not have any problems. RThe opener was easy to assemble , gate is a16’ approx. 300# on grease able hinges set on highest resistance and won’t open or close if the wind is blowing. Called there tech, they told me nothing they could do that’s something i have to live with. He said its like the wind resistance of a car going down the road I told him it never stoped my car. They were very unhelpful.

Ron, we at Mighty Mule are extremely sorry for this issue. Wind can be an issue depending on if your gate is solid or an open design. I would also recommend a gate lock (MM143) in windy conditions. The lock will help protect the gate from bending out of shape and provide a more stable environment. Also, please call for the Tech Supervisor who can help assist you in making sure you are at full power. Make sure your battery is good and if you are using solar make sure this has full sun and is fully charged. Please let us know how we can help. Kit did not come with all the parts indicated. No battery which means no gate operation. Pretty frustrating.
