  • Plug Jack, an all access slot design for fast plug removal
The Milwaukee Hole Dozer Hole Saw features Rip guard, the strongest tooth form in the industry, backed by the Rip guard limited lifetime tooth break warranty. Each tooth is built with more steel behind the cutting edge for added strength. The Rip Guard warranty on tooth breaks is a first for the hole saw industry. The added tooth strength along with 8% cobalt give added life to the teeth, allowing for increased productivity on the jobsite, as well as continued hole quality. The Hole Dozer includes Plug Jack, an all access slot design that allows for full access during plug removal. The Plug Jack gives access lower into the cup for thick material and higher towards the teeth for thin material. With multiple positions to apply leverage and better plug access, Plug Jack increases productivity and eliminates wasted downtime between holes. For fast, tool-free change-outs, use Milwaukee's universal Quick-Change Arbors. 49-56-7210.

Questions & Answers

Does this hole saw cut sheet metal?

Asked by: FloridaSon
This is what we bought it for, cutting through sheet metal. You have to have a strong drill to use, but it goes through fairly well. Worked for us anyway, as we applied a stove pipe through the hole we drilled.

does this come with the arbor

just wondering if this comes with the arbor to attach it to the drill or do you have to buy it separately?
Asked by: Jumborabbit
I already had an arbor so I only needed the 4 1/4 " hole saw and bought the hole saw without an arbor. but arbors were available separately.

But if you don't have a drill press or a very heavy duty hand drill and the ability to put your piece of work in a vice, be prepared to take a small beating. This hole saw will "catch" and want to twist your arm off. A small drill will simply not take the punishment if you have multiple holes to drill (I was making a wine rake in red oak and had 15 holes to drill). Worked great in my drill press or when I used my heavy duty hammer drill and vice in non-hammer mode. When I tried to use my regular DeWalt electric (corded) drill, it liked to beat me to death. And I was only drill partial holes.

I called ( our Home Depot is in Redding some thirty miles from home in Shingletown. I like to call to find out if an 'odd' tool or product is available before I drive down. One of the two guys who is capable of checking stock... is good and one is terrible. Seems I practically always get the worthless one... anyway trying to get this guy to check "up on the shelves" is nearly impossible. He told me on the phone they didn't have one. He has made this mistake before and because I needed the dang hole cutter I re-checked on-line. Sure enough; there was one.. and from that point forward it was easy-peazy... So yeah. great tool, easy on-line purchase and excellent facilitated pick-up... but one of the two store tool guys is really worthless.

I find the carbide teeth not well suited for steel or plastic because it is TOO SHARP! I am used to the regular bimetal holesaws that cut well enough. The carbide teeth on these hole dozers grab too much in the material and skew the bit causing the pilot drill to snap off. The 5 inch hole cutter is worse given the large diameter. It amplifies the torque. It actually bent the backer plate of the saw and cross threaded the saw onto my arbor and now BOTH HAVE TO BE REPLACED!! Yes the arbor pin locks were in place and the saw was not fully seated on the threads as it should be. I hope it is more forgiving in wood but I'm not very hopeful. PROBABLY BEST USED IN A DRILL PRESS! Freehand drilling will be a serious challenge for even the most seasoned power tool user.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The hole dozer product line are nicely constructed hole saws.... The hole dozer product line are nicely constructed hole saws. If you have a project that requires a serious hole saw tool then this is it. I was able to easily cut a hole in a metal panel with this tool. I failed on a previous attempt to cut a hole in metal with a cheap hole saw kit. The only negative IMO is that these are very expensive as individual pieces/sizes. As they say...you get what you pay for and this is no exception.

It worked well, but it was expensive. Still worth the time savings that it gave me. Make sure you keep it tight on the arbor or you can get serious vibration due to its size. I liked that it bored quickly since I was working overhead, and the blanks were easy to remove after the bore using the wide side holes.

Bought this to cut through 1/2" OSB and 1/4" Hardiboard siding for a portable AC hoses. It did not cut well at all and took forever at varying speeds to even score the material enough to get a handsaw into to finish the work. This saw may work well in drywall, but it did not cut though the materials I had to get through & I will be returning it today.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Purchased this hole saw to install a bathroom fan duct.... Purchased this hole saw to install a bathroom fan duct. I hit a couple of nails while drilling the hole, and the blades dulled quickly. Had to struggle to complete the hole, and was only drilling through two 3/4" layers of pine. Additionally, the HD price is quite high......can be found online much cheaper. I paid the price because I needed it.
