Questions & Answers

What is the adjustability travel distance for this router? From fully up to fully down how much ...

Asked by Tank April 6, 2021

can I get a guide fence for this router

Asked by Hippie August 14, 2018

Milwaukee does not offer a fence guide for the routers. Porter Cable has fence guides that are compatible with this router. The 49-54-1035 is obsolete from the manufacturer.

Can I get a 3/8 inch collet for this unit?

Asked by bruiin February 16, 2018

Adaptor bushings that have an OD of 1/2" and an ID of 3/8" will work for router bits with a 3/8" diameter shaft.

Would this be a good first router for me and can it be hooked into a table?

Asked by TC April 26, 2017

It's the only one I've used. Yes it can be attached to a table; I used it with a Ryobi model A25RT03 table which has pre-drilled holes in the insert plate to fit this tool and several others.

Does this come with the case and the T handle for adjusting the above the table depth?

Asked by Chris April 30, 2016

Asked by dimples July 1, 2014

zipcode 78610 ordered online and receiced it within a week

Great router • Comfort o I was really surprised how comfortable this router is to use. The molded grip on the side along with the strap is very comfortable when I am cutting rabbets and dado grooves. The side handles are also in a good location and are shaped well. I feel like I have a lot of control using the side handles. • Power o Great power for running a large variety of router bits. I’ve used this to run a cabinet door rail and stile set, mortising bits, and a 1-1/4” bit for flattening slabs. I was skeptical about running cabinet rail and stile bits with this router but it worked very well and gave great results on 4/4 hard maple. This runs my ¾” mortising bit with tons of power and I am able to chew through plywood easily. I like using this router and bit setup for cutting dados and rabbets when building cabinet carcasses. It’s comfortable to hold and easy to control when cutting. o It also had plenty of power running a 1-1/4” bit flattening slabs. Granted, the slab was pine, but the next one on my to-do list will be 8/4 Hickory slabs. o I recently made several bases for this router from laminated sheets of .202” thick plexiglass. It was easy to attach the router to the other bases and they held very secure. • Usability o There’s very little vibration and chatter when running large bits. There’s some kick when the motor comes on but less than with other routers I have and have used. o I have yet to have a bit become stuck in the collet, which happens with some of my other routers. It’s easy to loosen and tighten the nuts and I have never had a bit slip up or down when in use. • Depth Adjustment o The depth adjustment is pretty easy on this router base. It works well and is easy to adjust the depth of cut within at least 1/128 of an inch. For large movements it is easy to depress the button and slide the whole router up the depth rod. Overall I am very happy with this router, have put quite a few hours of use on it and am very pleased. One thought is that for the extra few dollars, the 2-1/4 HP unit would probably suit my needs better as far as running larger bits. I’m not sure this unit will have the power to run large raised panel bits through hardwoods and I cannot decrease the rpm’s.

A very good produce at a price I could afford. 5 year warrenty is a plus
I have been looking for a router table since they are suspose to increase the efficency of a router and ease of projects. I could buy one anywhere from $100 to $500 or more, but each one did not have a feature I wanted. Plus, for the price I could build one and use the money to buy a router just for my new router table. As you can see from the photos, I custom built my router table. It may not be fancy, but it has the features I wanted. I already had a Porter Cable router which is very good and came from Home Depot too, but every time I needed to adjust the debth, I have to disassemble it from the router table, adjust it, and re-assemble it. Kind of a pain in the neck if you know what I mean. I started looking for another router. While searching on line, I found this Milwaukee router at Home depot and it had three features I really liked: one was the brand name, two, I could micro adjust the router without having to disassemble it from the table, and third the price was in my budget. Only thing I did fuss about was it did not have a carrying case come with it. No big deal, I custom built my own (see left of photo) to meet my needs. My first project was a chess board for my grandson. My router and router talble made the job pretty easy. Happy with my purchase and what I can do with it. Good product, good price, and best warranty around. Milwaukee does a good job backing up their products.
