Product Overview

Milwaukee(R) SDS-Plus Masonry Core Bits are ideal for drilling large holes in brick, block, and concrete with SDS-Plus rotary hammers. Asymmetrical carbide teeth break up material more effectively resulting in up to 20% faster drilling speeds. Centering bits allow for easy alignment of the hole and precise spot drilling. The versatile two-piece design allows users to drill with several different core bit sizes using one adapter. The spiral core body design minimizes friction in the hole and aids in dust removal during the application. Core bits cut with the outer edge only, therefore the operator must remove the inner core continue drilling for holes deeper than 2".

Failed on an old concrete foundation
I bought this to drill through a 6" thick concrete foundation for a dryer vent. I would say the bit got 1/2" in, and that's being generous. The material was apparently too hard for the bit.

This bit cut through 10" rock like it was butter. I am very pleased with it.

Was very pleased to find that these are made in Germany, as anyone in the trades that does any amount of masonry drilling knows is what you want in a carbide bit. I don't always carry my large corded SDS-Max rotary hammer with me in the truck, so these are great to keep in with my M18 Fuel cordless SDS-Plus that I do keep with me, for the times that I didn't realize ahead of time that I would be needing to make a larger hole in concrete. Saves me a trip back to the house. Note that these are sold as just the core bit itself, and you will need an SDS-Plus thin-wall core bit shank adapter, of which Milwaukee has available in several lengths.

This Bit with the SDS adapter made short work of a core hole to install a 2" rigid pipe, through a concrete filled cinder block wall. Economical way to do the job with a medium weight SDS roto hammer drill. Noor renting for this type of job.
