The only drain/fill plug is the one at the top of the gearbox. So draining the oil out is going to be messy. The manual does not say drain it at all, just add as needed to the fill line on the sight glass. The oil is a synthetic made by Milwaukee, and the parts manual gives it a number, 49-32-0050. For an 8-oz bottle There are no other specs given, and the manual says use ONLY that. So you either order it, or call Milwaukee direct to see if there is a substitute.
I don't know the time. It is fast, but not instantaneous. Until this question, I never even thought about the saw having an electric brake. Especially on a gear drive. There is a lot of inertia in the motor rotation.You.might want to ask Milwaukee directly for this one.
15 lbs. Again. Per the website. www.milwaukeetool.com
page 6 in the owners' manual shows the location of the sight glass and fill plug. page 12 gives instruction on oil.
Hello I have used the angel scale a few times it was pretty easy for me
The weight of this item is 14.3 lbs.
China. Unfortunately. I haven't used it much, but I can say I have had no problems with it at all so far. And I use it mostly on sheet metal, when I can't use a bandsaw because of the throat limit. It is torquey, a lot heavier than a sidewinder, and the balance is not as good. But after getting used to it, I am Mr. Mayhem. And for what it is worth, it still has the Milwaukee 5 year warranty. But it is made in China.
I did not, mine was filled at the factory, but I'd check before you use it. To do so, extend the shoe fully, lock it in place and balance the saw on the shoe on a flat level surface. There is a round sight glass on the side away from the blade that has two horizontal lines etched on it. The lower line is the minimum oil level, the upper line is the maximum oil level. If your oil level is within those two lines you're okay. If you need to add oil, the fill cap is on top of the gearbox. The owners manual recommends using a special Milwaukee brand synthetic but it doesn't say anything else about it as far as weight and viscosity though. And I got none packaged with the saw. It is pretty thick, but I haven't contacted the service center to find out what it is, and the HD tool guy didn't know either. So I don't know if you can use something else as a substitute, like 40W motor oil, or 90W differential oil. I need to remember to find out myself, if I have to order a bottle. Hopes this helps.
Which way was the box oriented? It seems like these saws like to lay flat, shoe down. I ended up putting mine in a toolbox with some foam blocking. I'd fill it per the sight glass and store it flat to see if I could tell how much and how fast it is leaking.
This product can take a worm drive oil.
