Question is about Thunderbolt Cobalt drill bit specifications

Item description does not specify either hardness (M42, M36, etc.) or Cobalt percentage (5%, 8%, etc.). Are these bit solid Cobalt Alloy Steel or simply coated High Speed Steel bits? Item description also says they are Titanium coated, probably a typo.
Asked by: ztywa6
It appears that these bits are titanium coated but they are not even hardened to minimum hardness standards. As for the high speed part they overheat using cutting oil.

Did not perform as expected, I had to work hard to drill through a 3/8" pilot hole that I made with a 30 year old SKF bit that just cut right through and I can not find anymore. Colbalt bits should perform so much better! The step in the tip does not help at all!
