does this come with the arbor

just wondering if this comes with the arbor to attach it to the drill or do you have to buy it separately?
Asked by: Jumborabbit
The Hole Dozer does not come with The arbor. The arbor must be purchased by itself. You have a choice of either a 3/8" drive or a 7/16" drive. The price is under $20.00

4-1/2 in. Hole Dozer Bi-Metal Hole Saw is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 1115.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Hole Saw I've been using this hole saw to make a wine bottle holder. Of course, I'm not an expert, so I've made plenty of test runs using everything from MDF to poplar to common wood to pine. The cuts come out the same every time, although the real woods will require a little sanding afterward. (The MDF is smooth.) I've cut through various widths (1/4" to 1") without issue, and I've done it all with a drill press. I cannot attest for how this will work with a handheld drill, although I would think a steady hand well clamped wood would produce similar results. Note that, unless you already have one, you'll need to get the chuck for this too (around $15). The chuck fits all the Milwaukee hole saws from around 2"-6", so it's a one time purchase. (I have two other Milwaukee hole saws in different sizes and all use the same chuck.) If you need holes drilled, you've found the right tool. If you have to go smaller than 2" or so, get a forstner bit instead. For larger projects, this is your part.

It fit perfectly with minimum clearance. Make sure you drill hole right where you need it for a 2 in EMT conduit. The saw was used to drill through older plaster approx 1/2 in thick then through 1/2 ply wood. It worked flawlessly. The drill we used was a Rigid 20volt battery powered drill. That worked flawlessly as well. The worker who drilled the hole was fatigued after drilling the hole as he was working overhead and didn't use enough force to help drive the saw through the plywood. He was later instructed on the proper hole drilling procedure to minimize fatigue and to safely drill a hole without over taxing the hardware and tools. All is well now.

The arbor that is used with this hole saw has a quick release feature which sounds nice but in reality introduces enough play and wobble when sawing to allow the saw to jam in the middle of drilling and break your wrist. Ok, it didn't actually break my wrist but it might have had I had brittle bones which I don't have as far as I know. Anyway, I couldn't figure out a way to tighten down the quick release but I was able to bypass the feature entirely and just tighten the saw to the arbor and leave the quick release unengaged, which yielded better results.

I bought this one to run dryer and vent fan ducting. 4-1/8" is just the right size to allow me to seal the vent fixture with a nice bead of caulking to keep the creepy crawlies out of the walls. A quick trick with hole saws. Oil the hole saw periodically while cutting, even into wood. You will be amazed at how much faster it cuts and how much less effort it takes. Wipe off the oil quickly and it won't interfere with the adhesion of caulk or paint later if that's your worry.

I gave it a good rating because I would not recommend it for DIY users. Using this with a 1/2" corded drill requires careful attention to how the blade engages the wood. Do not use this saw on a ladder. Cutting should be on a secure surface with the wood securely attached. I used it only once so far. It did not meet my expectations; however, I should have recognized the significant torque generated by the drill with this saw.

The slots on the side of the saw make it much easer to remove material from the inside of the saw and that saves time clearing the saw for the next hole. Milwaukee makes a quality product and I have had excellent experience from my first sawzall that is over 40 years old to my collection of M-12 drills and other equipment. From a beginning apprentice to a Master Plumber I have been using Milwaukee tools.

It actually took me short of two hours and lots of work to finish making the hole. Very disappointed as I've always had high confidence in Milwaukee products. A $38 product should have given much better service. Should have returned it but I used it and it looked very worn.

I bought this saw to cut a hole through my interior and exterior wall which was made of stucco. Upon reaching the exterior stucco wall the saw immediately lost its edge and went dull creating heat without any further progress. I did some more research and discovered a diamond bit 4" saw that cut easily through the thick stucco.
