Poor Quality Control not the RIGHT SIZE
I ordered a 1 1/16" ship auger bit. It turned out to be 1 1/32".

Surpassed My Expectations
This is a great bit. I bought it for a job that required us to bore through red oak 4 x 4's stacked on top of red oak 4 x 6's so we could bolt them together. We drilled 48 holes back to back through 7 inches of red oak and this bit handled it like a champ. I was really impressed with the performance, I'll definitely use these bits in the future.

Disappointed in performance. Have to sharpen bit every time after drilling 4 holes in tree stumps. I clearly expected a better bit than one from Harbor Freight Tools.

Duller than a butter knife
Very disappointed with this Auger.
The bit was very dull not sharp at all. To make a dull bit worse they painted it with thick red paint. I had to use my Delta stone and spend an hour to get the cutting edge even " kind of " sharp. To sum up in 4 words, " expensive piece of junk ".
