The drill bit worked as you would expect a Milwaukee drill bit to perform. I needed it to drill the hole to use a 1/4" NPT tap in an aluminum PTU case on a Ford AWD vehicle. The older PTU's on Ford vehicles were once listed as 'Lifetime Filled' and came without a drain plug. The PTU's are now required to have the 75W140 lubricant changed every 20K to 30K miles and come with a drain plug. The drill cut through the aluminum case with ease and I threaded and installed a 1/4" NPT brass plug. I am glad I did this as the fluid that came out was the worst condition I have ever seen and I have since changed it twice to hopefully clean out as much of the old lubricant as possible. I did drill smaller holes first before using the 7/16' bit but the bit worked perfectly.

Quality bit that fits in 3/8ths drills
I bought this bit for a project that required a 7/16ths hole, but would fit in my 3/8ths drill. The shank of the bit is machined down so there's no need to go buy a 1/2 inch drill if you don't already have one.

threw this out in the package after using the matching 3/8 bit
The matching 3/8 bit to this one bent on the second hole I drilled with it so this drill bit I threw away in its packaging. Life is too short to use imitation tools...

    Worked for my application
I was using this to drill holes into some square tubing, pretty beefy stuff. 10 gauge would be my guess. This was able to make the 40 or so holes I needed without dulling out and I did not bother with lubricating during the drilling. Tip: A rat tail file is a great help in smoothing any debris or errors nicely.

This product definitely works and stays sharp much longer than the other brands!
I will only buy Milwaukee Thunderbolt Black Oxide Drill Bit as I have 2 cordless drills and I use them both alot in my DIY projects. Wonderful to know that I can depend on it staying sharper longer than the other brands.
