I used it indoors with a Makita belt sander and 40-grit sandpaper to sand a couple hundred square feet of rough pine board. It worked really well. The only negative is the bags are expensive (~$10 each), and sawdust fills them really quickly. Because the sawdust was coarse, I ended vacuuming the bag out with my shop vac (now outdoors), allowing me to reuse the bag. (DO NOT try this with concrete or drywall dust, or anything hazardous.)
Ribbed.
Corded
Yes, I used it with a diamond cup wheel on a 9-inch angle grinder to grind my basement floor. It worked really well - it extracted about 50 lbs of super-fine concrete dust (highly hazardous material). A couple of things to note: 1. You also need a dust shroud for your grinder. 2. Take your time, it takes time to learn how to grind efficiently while minimizing dust. 3. You still need PPE. Even with an extractor, DO NOT try this job without a respirator (not just a dust mask). Even if the extractor captures >99% of the dust (which it does), there will be plenty of dust escaping into your work space.
Yes. Im useing it with the festool drywall sander and does just fine.
No, the dust extractor cannot be used with out a bag.
Yes. You have to use the plastic bag that comes with, instead of the cloth one.
