Used to cut a piano harp in half
I disassembled an old upright piano in order to get it out of the basement. I wouldn’t recommend this job to anyone! After I removed all the strings and got the harp out of the frame I still needed to cut the heavy cast iron harp in half to make the pieces more manageable to remove. After reading reviews, I settled on this 9” heavy metal cutting blade. I had to cut the frame in 4 places - cross sections of these cuts ranged from 1”x1” to 1”x1.5”. It started well but I probably dulled the blade some by the time I was done. I took my time using light to medium pressure and let the tool do the work. Took no more than 10-15 minutes and the harp was cut in half and is now out of the house!

This is a blade made by Milwaukee specifically for cutting 4" cast iron pipe. On occasion I run into a job I have to cut cast iron waste line pipe and it is impossible to get a grinder around for cutting and this blade becomes a life saver because you can cut the whole pipe from 1 access point. The metal blades have increased in quality making shorter cutting time. I would recommend this blade.

I got this primarily for cutting thick steel. I cut through some 1/4 inch thick mild steel and it went through like butter. I decided to try this blade because the plumbers I work with recently did a bunch of demolition work taking out large steel pipe and cast iron drain pipe. They absolutely swear by these. This blade is substantially thicker and stronger than your typical sawzall blades. This one is built for cutting thick mild steel, stainless steel, and cast-iron. It would obviously cut through wood just fine as well.

The saw blade is a nice thick one. It has 7 TPI and is 9” long. Because it is made with cast iron, it has a longer life span than the regular ones. When I compare it to the saw blade that I have been using, I can really see the difference in thickness of this one so I know it is stronger. It has nitrus carbide on the blade. It is made in the USA. A good tool to have available for your reciprocating saw.

The Milwaukee 9 inch, 7TPI torch nitrus carbide teeth metal sawzall saw blade Is a very aggressive blade. I used it to cut pie shaped cut-cuts on both ends of 4- 2x2 tubes which will be used as brackets under a trailer to carry loading ramps. The cutouts allowed me to bend both ends 90 degrees to the tube, which will now be welded. Since I don't have a metal cutting band saw, the sawzall worked very well to make the cuts.Because of the blade's wider kerf, the blade didn't whip and bind like the standard sawzall blade.

These Milwaukee SAWZALL® TORCH™ with NITRUS CARBIDE™ Blades are New for March of 2020. These blades are designed for cutting Cast Iron, and other thick metals like Black Pipe, Angle Iron, and Rebar to name a few. They can take a beating without snapping or breaking like many of the foreign made blades. These blades are made right here in the USA in Milwaukee Tools Greenwood Mississippi plant (See Photo). They cut faster, and last longer than any blades I’ve ever used. The blade incorporates a universal 1/2 inch tang that will fit just about any reciprocal saw from the old saws that used set screws to hold the blade, to the newer quick release designs. I used this blade in my 25 year old Milwaukee Sawzall Reciprocating Saw without any problems. The tip of the blade is blunt, not pointed (See Photo). It will deflect off objects it hits, and not stab into them. It has 7 TPI (Tooth Per Inch) and is 9 inches in length, great for cutting out old cast iron sewer pipe. You need to have these blades available when you need them, so pick some up so you will have them in your tool box available right when you need them. Always wear a respirator mask when cutting cast iron. Cast iron dust is extremely dangerous when inhaled into your lungs. Once you use Milwaukee blades, you will wonder why you ever tried to save a few bucks on those cheaper blades.

The MILWAUKEE 9 IN. 7 TPI TORCH NITRUS CARBIDE TEETH METAL CUTTING SAWZALL RECIPROCATING SAW BLADE is a nice addition to my sawzall kit. I chose this product to see how it will perform when needed. I take my sawzall kit to the dirt track for needed immediate repairs if for any reason we have minor damage. I can just tell by looking at the durability of the blade that I feel it will outperform a standard sawzall blade. You can't go wrong with Milwaukee products!!

The 9-inch Torch Nitrus Saw Blade (made by Milwaukee), is a bit pricey; however, if you need to cut thick heavy metal, the investment is well worth the cost. I have a lot of scrap machinery and metal here on the farm and a lot of projects to do (this was used on a honey bee stand project). The metal was thick, old, and rusty, yet the nitrus carbide blade had no problem making a clean straight cut. Granted, it was not a fast cut, but still, I had no issues with the Sawzall cutting all the way through. I cut several pieces from the old hay cutter and inspected the blade at the end. I was pleasantly surprised that it showed little or no wear to the cutting teeth. This Milwaukee (Torch) Metal Cutting blade will clearly be my go-to blade for future farm projects requiring metal cuts.

I have long liked Milwaukee's saw blades and this one is no exception. It is for cast iron and thick metal. I got these for cutting out cast iron tubs because in the past I have needed one but not had it. These blades are durable and you get a long of bang for your buck. I like to keep these on hand for whenever the need arises, you can depend on these to get you through the job.

I like the entire line of Milwaukee tools and accessories. Well made and commercial quality. This blade will not disappoint. It has an extra thick blade and made to withstand heavy sawzall use on thick metal (pipes, rebar, angle iron, etc). I tried it in my folding handheld sawzall blade tool (also from Milwaukee) and if fits perfectly (although due to the full length of this blade it won't fold in, because it is designed for 6 inch blades). Know matter, I can use this in a pinch if I have to. Great product.
