Best blade to use against extra heavy cast iron. Cuts 4" pipe in 2 minutes max.

I got these blades to cut out some old cast iron waste pipes from my basement. I was cutting 4" inch pipe and it cut like butter. The carbide teeth on the blade worked phenomenally better than standard High Speed Steel (HSS) or M42 fine tooth Carbon Blades. No cutting fluids or oils required. I also used in on other ferrous metals such as black pipe just to see how it would cut and it cut through great using the same blade I used for the cast iron. They seem to be resilient and tough.

Used to cut a piano harp in half
I disassembled an old upright piano in order to get it out of the basement. I wouldn’t recommend this job to anyone! After I removed all the strings and got the harp out of the frame I still needed to cut the heavy cast iron harp in half to make the pieces more manageable to remove. After reading reviews, I settled on this 9” heavy metal cutting blade. I had to cut the frame in 4 places - cross sections of these cuts ranged from 1”x1” to 1”x1.5”. It started well but I probably dulled the blade some by the time I was done. I took my time using light to medium pressure and let the tool do the work. Took no more than 10-15 minutes and the harp was cut in half and is now out of the house!

This cutting blade is the one. When I saw the size and quality of the Milwaukee 12 IN. 7 TPI Torch Nitrus Carbide Reciprocating Saw Blade, I had to use it right away. I had large metal pieces that needed to be cut into smaller pieces. The blade cuts like a knife through butter. The additional 25% more Nitrus Carbide per tooth really makes the blade a cut above what I already have. The time it takes to cut through metal pieces is incredible. We're talking about seconds. This blade has a 1/2 in. universal tang. So if you're looking for the right cutting blade for virtually any job, Milwaukee 12 IN. Torch Nitrus Carbide is the blade. You will notice immediately how durable this blade is. It's very strong and doesn't bend out of control like other blades. It produces very clean and accurate cuts.

These are very nice, high quality blades. I like the 12 inch size which gives you more ability to cut from a distance. I used the blades to cut old steel plumbing pipes out of a house. The blades made short work of cutting the pipe. At times the 12 inch length got in the way of cutting in tight spaces. Even though these blades are rated for metal cutting they can be used for wood, plastic, etc. if needed. I used one to make a wood cut and it worked great.

      doesnt cut cast iron!
I heard from a couple people that they were awesome, they were far from awesome. Tried to cut up a cast iron tub with no luck, i even used my Milwaukee hacksall. Spent about 15-20 minutes doing 2 different cuts, couldnt get past the top of the blade. Had to use a sledge hammer instead.

No doubt in my mind... YES!!! I would recommend this product. I can't believe how it cut through thick steal like it was butter. Saved me a great deal of time and a great deal of discomfort in my hands. I would normally use a pneumatic cut tool for this type of job. INCREDIBLE!!!! After cutting several pieces I inspected the blade and it doesn't appear to have been used at all. Go Torch or you'll have an exhaustive experience!

        Awesome blade
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had to use this blade to cut the clutch fan off my truck so I could replace the waterproof the darn thing was 24 years old. Anyway the place got the job done and with out any problems. Yes it was steel and aluminum but it worked like any saw blade would. I did also cut some cast iron at work and tried it on som emt conduit and some ridged. I think this is a great blade.

These carbide reciprocating saw blades from Milwaukee are just the thing to cut through tough metal. I recently used one on my last project which involved cutting to length some galvanized electrical conduit pipes. The teeth were sharp and cut through the metal smoothly but not so fast that they grabbed too much material. My other Milwaukee bits and blades have off held up well so I expect the same from these. Good quality tools.

This is a blade made by Milwaukee specifically for cutting 4" cast iron pipe. On occasion I run into a job I have to cut cast iron waste line pipe and it is impossible to get a grinder around for cutting and this blade becomes a life saver because you can cut the whole pipe from 1 access point. The metal blades have increased in quality making shorter cutting time. I would recommend this blade.
