            The case sucks
As much as these are you’d think Milwaukee would make it so the saws stay in place but instead they just bang around everywhere damaging the blades and there’s room for one more paddle bit They couldn’t add one more or at least 2 different sizes these are amazing blades but the cheaper set you get a pack out case which I’m assuming is much better but the more expensive and bigger set you get a crappy plastic box That should be the opposite

Received the Milwaukee BigHawg 9 piece carbide teeth hole saw kit. Item # 49-56-9295. These hole saws will go through wood with nails (although I would avoid going through nails if possible because it’s going to take a toll on the bit), cement board, plaster, and shingles. I needed larger sizes and this kit fits the bill with 2 1/8, 2 9/16, 3”, 3 5/8 and 4 5/8. It also comes with Arbor with Pilot bit, 2 Big Hawg with carbide teeth Clean Wood pilot bits and a fantastic pack out carrier to hold everything. I do a lot of rough in work in new construction and additions work and my old stuff needed to be replaced. After reading reviews and a few manufacturers,I decided that the Big Hawg by Milwaukee was the one for me. Tried out one of the saws and it was like cutting through butter compared to my old stuff (see picture). The only con that might be concern for finish work is that they do cut a rough hole. I would highly recommend this kit.

Man oh man, I love this Milwaukee BIG HAWG 9-piece Carbide Hole Saw Kit with PACKOUT case. This is the perfect do-it-all hole saw to have on hand when you don't know what type of material you are going to encounter. I have the Milwaukee DOZER hole saws and they do a great job but the BIG HAWG excels at it. The sizes in the set seemed a little odd and non-standard and I honestly don't know what their true intent is. I have put holes in a wide variety of material for running electrical conduit, water lines, drain lines and these hole saws never once faltered. My two biggest complaints when using hole saws are dulling and difficulty removing the plugs. These suffer from neither. Actually, I think I must have set a personal time record for getting a plug out of a hole saw. For me, that alone makes them worth the extra expense. These will cost you more up front but you will recoup that in the life expectancy.

The Milwaukee big hawg carbide hole saws are amazing. Gone are the days of bimetal blades that burn up quick. The hole saws are a must if doing anytype of rough in work. The bits grab nicely and feed through the wood with little effort. Being carbide a nail hit isn't the end of the bit, they take a beating and could easily be resharpend and have a tooth replaced if need be. The case it come is is part of the pack out storage system which is great all in its self.

This is the best hole saw I have ever used. The Milwaukee big hawg kit is an exceptional set of tools. The carbide hole bits are rugged, cut accurately through wood and composite materials and most importantly, through nails and screws in the wood. The box is jobsite tough with secure latches and mounts on the back to fit the Milwaukee tool boxes. The kit includes two wood and one spiral pilot bits. Milwaukee lives up to its motto, Quality Portable Tools.

I didn’t know there was such a thing as carbide hole saws. This is a heavy duty set. The saws have three teeth, regardless of the hole size. The carbide insert is much longer than the typical circular saw blade. I assume this is to obtain sufficient brazing length, as the force will be considerably higher when you have interrupted cuts, such as hitting nails in wood. The length of these hole saws are about ½” longer than standard cutters, for deeper cuts. The clean-out slot is open at the bottom, for easier cleanout. The pilot drill point is carbide tipped drill, plus they include a couple very nice 3/8” spade bits. The storage case is deluxe and also heavy duty, but I don’t like the bulk of the system. For me, storage space is always a premium, and I prefer to stack the cutters for storage.

Okay. The parts in this kit are extremely well made. The hole saws cut through nail laden wood with ease. I cut a hole for a soap dispenser in an old vanity top that had more nails than you can imagine. My Milwaukee Hole-Shooter Magnum didn't even faulter with a 2-1/8" hole saw. The question I have, however...who uses the sizes that are included in this kit? None of the sizes match what I would normally find in an electrician's or plumber's kit. What do you do when you don't have the right size? "Wobble" it out! But, I can't believe that is what Milwaukee intended for a product they spent time designing and manufacturing. Maybe they are intended for "rough" work like running electrical distribution or sprinkler lines in a high-rise. I'll give them that and recommend this product accordingly.

This is a very good set of hole saws, the carbide tips will keep them going a long time.. All the normal sizes you will need for larger holes are included. Great for going through cement siding like I have. They cut through wire mesh that you find in plaster at times. The larger sizes should be used with a larger drill with a side handle so you can keep a good grip on the drill. Nice having them all in one case.

This is easily be best hole saw set I have ever used. These Big Hawg hole saws will cut through nails as advertised. I drove two 16 penny nails into the side of a 2x12 and then cut a hole right through both nails. The limiting factor in cutting through the nails was my drill, not the hole saw blade. The saw made short work of the nails to complete the hole. The wood core left in the saw is easy to remove. The saw arbor and bit are easily assembled to the hole saw and easily removed again. I found that the hole saw arbor can be attached to the hole saws without tools as the checkered nut will secure it at finger tight.

The pilot bit tips resemble some concrete bits but much sharper. Durability nicely describes the saws, arbor, and starter bits. Three carbide teeth pilot bits are included, though it may be difficult to wear out just one. In addition to the four hole saws ranging from 2-1/8" to 4-5/8" (Big Hawg), the kit includes a file, an Allen wrench for changing starter bits; and one well designed carrying case with handle. Cut depth is almost 2-1/2". With access from both sides, a fairly deep cut out hole is possible.
