Powerful and Convenient
We demo'd this saw prior to purchasing and it worked awesome. Since purchasing, I've used it several times cutting ductile iron inside of wet wells. You'll definitely get more cuts out of a tank on a gas powered saw than you will out of a battery or two, but this has its purpose. It does not bog down at all while making cuts and seems to cut faster than a gas powered saw. It also is the only viable option for cutting in a confined space, being that you wont have toxic fumes or have to maneuver around hydraulic lines. This saw has made our job 10 times easier and was worth every dollar.

    Decent for Masonry
This saw is great for cutting concrete block and brick when you are on a job and need special cuts. I like it because it is quick and also quiet. It’s so annoying to hear a gas Stihl or Husky all day; drive a man nuts. Its also adequate for rebar and the occasional angle iron cuts. I would recommend 2 batteries for a one man operation and 2 saws / 5 batteries if you have a couple masons on a job. You shouldn’t be using this to cut pallet after pallet of 1/2s, flow-thrus and 1/4s. Estimate and order the correct block or grab an apprentice and send him to the other end of the site with a Stihl and a can of gas. This saw also comes up short for concrete. The number of batteries you’d need in order to be efficient would be insane. This is a great start for an electric saw; 10 years ago I never would have thought this capability would be possible. I expect it to be even better in a few years.
