The Milwaukee 9-Piece Bi-Metal General-Purpose HOLE DOZER Hole Saw Kit is engineered for longer life and faster cutting performance and is the Most Durable Hole Saw. The kit comes with 5 hole saw blades in 5 sizes: 1 in., 1-1/4 in., 1-1/2 in., 2 in. and 2-1/2 in. The hole saws feature RIP GUARD teeth built with more steel behind the cutting edge for added strength. The teeth give increased productivity on the job site and better hole quality. They are also backed by a limited lifetime tooth break warranty. Each HOLE DOZER is coated with a low friction, thermoset paint that provides a faster cutting speed in wood and more holes cut per battery charge. The hole saw kit comes with a Plug Jack featuring an all access slot design that allows for full access during plug removal. The Plug Jack enables access into the cup for both thick thin material removal, eliminating wasted downtime between holes.

    Hello! Our Hole Dozer General Purpose Bi-Metal Hole Saw Set (9-Piece) (49-22-4009) just requires a minimum chuck size of 3/8".

    The specification says: "Drilling Depth (in) 2.375". Is this true?

    Yes, in a sense. 2.375" is the depth of the cutter "cup", which will limit the thickness material you can saw at a time. You could cut deeper, but you'd have to remove the "plug" in the cutter or the hole before continuing. For example, if you want to saw more than 2.375" into a slab of wood, saw to the depth of the cutter, remove the cutter, chisel out the plug in the slab, then continue cutting.

    can I use this without the drill bit?

    Yes, it can be used without the pilot bit. The arbor chucks, not the bit. I strongly recommend using a drill press and secured material. It can be quite aggressive and perhaps uncontrollable if used free-hand.

    What size drill chuck does this require? 1/2 inch?

    I have a Rigid cordless drill and the set fits with no issues. I didn’t measure, but I believe it’s a 3/8” drive. Fits drill fine with plenty of room left over. Definitely not a 1/2” drive...

    Can you use this without the guide drill bit, e.g., to remove a broken screw in wood?

    Disappointed
    Usually have good experiences with Milwaukee, purchased this Bi-Metal kit to cut some holes, when I went to use it, the adapter was missing so couldn’t use the largest saw, which was what I needed. Also, the second the largest saw looks like it has been used before. The packaging was on the box, guess someone could have switched it out. Will have to try to find my receipt and see if I can return/exchange it. Project will have to wait a bit longer.

    Nope
    1) no instructions. 2) extremely difficult to take off blades and the adapter once used (need extreme torque to remove them). Dont get this particular set. Returning to store.

    Didn't come with instructions for use. Not self explanatory. Hole saw was barely able to get the job done but now the 2" saw is stuck on the adapter, and I'll be unable to use the other size saws

    dull quickly; arbor immediately stuck
    Like other reviewers, I used this kit once and the mandrel is stuck so hard into the saw as to be unremovable by any tool I have. The lack of instructions or (if there is a way) directions of how to remove it are indefensible. But beyond that, why not provide a pin-type locking mechanism like other brands? This would hardly I have been happily using other Milwaukee tools and seeking them out when I need them; after this experience I think I will switch to other brands.
