Does not come with packout case like advertised
I have been building a large packout set up and specifically ordered this item because it was suppose to come with a packout compatible case. it did not.

These Cobalt Drill Bits work just fine
Drilling into Metal the smaller bits 1/8 inch and under Can be run around 1000-1300 rpm (i always keep on the slower side, some say the smaller bits can go faster but just more chance of heat build up and breakage i think) bits above 1/8 inch you should run about 500-600 rpm and watch your shavings if discolored looking you need to slow down, be sure to use a Cutting oil (I use Tap Magic) when drilling into metal with cobalt bits it helps keep the heat down and helps the drill bit cut better.

Teeth worn down flat drilling first hole
The 2 inch hole saw teeth worn down within minutes of starting a hole in mild steel. This was the first time I used any of the Dozer hole saws in my 28 piece kit. I bought this kit to replace cheaper bits that are junk and wear out quickly. Unfortunately it appears that my dozer bits may be junk to. I bought this kit because of the wide selection of hole saws and the ease of the interchangeable arbors and pilot bits. However if the blades cannot even drill one hole before wearing the teeth out the set is useless.

This is absolutely the best drill set for the money...
This is absolutely the best drill set for the money I’ve been able to find anywhere! You can tell by the weight of the bits that they have a substantial amount of cobalt. So why only 5-stars??? It’s the incredibly bad case. The plastic grips the bits so tightly that pliers are needed to remove them. This is clearly a marketing ploy; the shiny red plastic looks great in a display and it must be cheaper to supply. But shame on Milwaukee; the merits of a shiny display are IMMEDIATELY lost when the bits need to be used. Fortunately, there is a remedy; just invert the bits in the case. Most of the holes require enlargement as most of the bits have reduced shanks but you have the bits right there!
Buy these bits, give Milwaukee’s marketing staff a wave of your index finger, and don’t look back!

Snapped to bits
Just picked up a brand new set, a 3/8ths drill bit in a drill, pre drilled hole snapped the bit before one full revelation drilling aluminum. I want slow and the hole was 95+ percent predrilled.

The Milwaukee Cobalt Drill Bit 29-Piece Set is an excellent, comprehensive set of drill bits, with an extensive range of drill bit sizes ranging from 1/16 inch to ½ inch in 1/64 increments. The bits themselves are very well machined, quite durable, and have excellent material-boring capability. This week I used one bit in my electric drill to bore several pilot holes through a very dense hardwood, in order to subsequently install toggle bolts. The drill bit performed absolutely effortlessly, very quickly, and shows no signs of wear whatsoever. Today I used the 7/32 bit to drill a hole through 3/16” thick steel (see picture). Again, the bit performed flawlessly and showed no signs of wear. The entire set is contained in a strong plastic storage case, in which each bit size is clearly marked.

Well-made & sharp drill bits. This sets comes with a handy case to keep them organized. The bits are very sharp and make quick work of drilling through anything. I was working on 2 different projects one was wood (2x4s) and it goes through like a hot knife through butter. My second project, I needed to enlarge some holes on some heavy duty casters and I was able to drill them out with ease. These are high quality drill bits and I expect them to last for years.

I am a fan of Milwaukee products and this 29 piece cobalt drill bit set is no different. The bits come in an organized case with the exact size of the bits clearly marked. It can be a little difficult to get a bit out of the case.
The cobalt bits can be used for a variety of drilling applications from plastic, wood to hard steel. I frequently drill 3/16" angle iron and occasionally thicker metals by using oil to keep the bits cool. These bits do well in hard metal with a little oil. These bits will last a long time. Great product!
