The Milwaukee kit will be the better quality kit. However, if you are getting a kit for occasional use (once a week, once a month) the cheaper set will be adequate. I use my Milwaukee kit on a daily basis and it has yet to disappoint.

Hi Bob, I rechecked the specs in my kit to be sure about materials this particular dozer set is comparable with working on you're asking about: * Cuts through clean wood, nail embedded wood, plastic, aluminum, metal and stainless steel Although veneer is not listed, I did use it on a piece of veneer I had in my garage to make joint jigs and it worked fine. See the photo attached that I had posted in my review.

What is the difference in this bi-metal and a general purpose bi-metal set?

I am a DIYer and not an electrician, so I can’t comment on the “electrician” designation but relative to most other hole saw kits, it has more and larger diameter saws. Most kits don’t have saws much over 2+ inches in diameter. This kit goes up to 4+ inches in diameter. You can get this kit for $100+ on sale. To get a kit that has saws 5+ or 6+ inches in diameter, you will have to pay several hundred dollars. I purchased this kit because I needed 4+ inch diameter holes to install a yard drainage system using 4 inch drain pipe.

Can this use to cut wood too

Concrete. Metal. Wood. PVC. Would not recommend ceramic.

Is anyone having trouble removing the bits with the Hex Key? Having trouble removing the bit.

No. Use a wrench to loosen the nut or bit, and vice grips to hold the dozer in place. That is how I loosen mine to remove the bits. Took me awhile to learn this removal trick.

Hi, Can these cut ceramic tiles? thanks

These bits are not recommended for ceramics - you'll need a hole set specifically designed for ceramics

Inaccurate description of product.
Bought the 20 piece kit because it says specifically in the description online under Product Overview that “The kit comes with 20 hole saw blades in 13 sizes...” Not true. The kit comes with 13 blades, each a different size. The other 7 pieces counted are the kit, arbors and wrench. This is false advertising. Disappointed. Also the welds look sub-par on some of the blades.

Purchased this 17pc set back in December 2019. Opened the kit today Nov 18, 2020 to find out its missing the 2-1/4 hole saw. Learn from my mistake and open your packages as soon as you get them, not when the time calls for them.

Regret purchase
Purchased this to cut holes in wooden studs to run pipe. After third hole, the saw was so full it barely finished the cut. I would expect this if they came from Harbor Freight. Very apprehensive about buying any more Milwaukee tools. As an electrical contractor I depend on my tools to do the job. This product was not up to the task and is now taking up space on a shelf in the garage.

Love It! The bi-metal strength of the hole dozers and sharpness of the teeth are remarkable. They easily attach to each of the arbors by simply tightening them with your hand, and the larger arbor has a magnetic locking feature that secure's the bigger sized dozers very firmly in place. They will stick at times when you need to change dozers due to the torque while cutting a hole, but they can be loosened with a wrench and vice grip if need be. Also, wood will expand inside the dozer during the hole cut so after getting the dozer loosened from the arbor you can poke the wood out from the bottom if it doesn't twist out while removing the pilot drill bit. So far I have made corner jigs for my wood working projects, and 1 1/2" hole plugs from scrap 2x4 to fill holes previously made for a shelf I am refurbishing that I bought from a local retailer who was going to throw it away. I have more home improvement and wood working projects on my list that I am looking forward to doing, and this Milwaukee Hole Dozer General Purpose Bi-Metal Hole Saw Set will definitely be put to much more use.

Item is called a 14-piece hole dozer. Picture shows a full set of hole dozers. Item when opened appears to be missing a hole dozer. Counting the pieces present in the box, there are only 13. Took it back to Home Depot and swapped it for another assuming it was a mistake. We checked 3 different boxes it looks like its not a mistake. After further inspection it turns out that Milwaukee counts the case itself as the 14th piece. Extremely misleading if you ask me, cutting corners just to save a buck. Plus without the extra piece, all the other pieces just roll around in the case.

Meh
Missing 2 1/8 hole saw. No place in the case for the 5th arbor bit. Seems like it was thrown together in a hurry.

This set does real well. It has just about every size you'd need and it's better to have and not need that to not have and need. Plumbing, electrical, cable. All sorts of things you may need a hole for. This way you can make S hole without making a mess.

Lost customer
I have been a long time Ridgid/Dewalt customer for power tools, and a Kobolt/Dewalt customer for hand tools. Recently I started buying Milwawkee tools, but after buying this set I will no longer buy Milwawkee. This set is disgustingly of poor quality, for starters all the hole saws don't even fit where there supposed to, 2nd most of them are not even round. I have a Kobolt set and side by side the Milwawkee set looks like a 3rd rate cheap set. I get it this set is only $40 but under false pretenses, atleast I hope so, because if I paid $80 for this garage I would want to fight over it. I have purchased Ridgid and Dewalt items on sale before and both of them care about the fact that there names are on the product to sell some trash like this. I will post pictures side by side with a quality Koblot hole saw kit.
