Q:And why is the marker color family listed as red??

Answer This Question

A:  Milwaukee tool uses red as part of the body color on their products to distinguish their products from their competitors. The black cap color on this product is used to indicate the ink color similar to other pen products.

by|Aug 4, 2019

A:  All Milwaukee Tool Inkzalls have red body and the tip is the color of the marker.

by|Aug 5, 2019

A:  Red is the "Brand" color for Milwaukee. All their products are red. The marker itself has black ink.

A:  No you cannot, I've tried it and it doesn't come apart.

        by|May 4, 2023

A:  nope it's a single-use; the stylus end tends to wear out just about as fast as the ink anyhow. This stylus has the best finger simulation of any i've used (dozen +); it has some conductive cloth wrapped around some foam; matches your finger way better than the typical rubber button that grabs too much.

        by|May 4, 2023

A:  No, the marker is just used until it's used up, like any marker. The stylus lasts much longer.

        by|May 4, 2023

A:  No. I work as an electrician. It lasted me about 4 months. Well worth $10. I go through 3 markers of other brands per month.

Good marker for marking nearly any solid surface regardless if the surface is clean and dry.
This marker is able to easily mark a fine black line that is visible on a non-black surface on nearly any solid surface material including on plastics, glass, metals, cardboard, paper, wood, cement blocks, etc.. The manufacturer claims that the marker will write on dust wet oily surfaces. One end of this marker has a stylus with a small clear protective cap to keep the stylus clean and dry when not in use. The stylus can be used to navigate touch screens on electronic devices to prevent from having to remove gloves. After placing the black marker cap over the stylus end of the marker while the marker is in use it is important that the black marker cap is always pulled off the stylus end of the marker as straight as possible to avoid accidentally dislodging the stylus cap off of the stylus end of the marker. The stylus cap comes off easily from the stylus end of the marker when the black marker cap is pulled off of the stylus end of the marker crooked or cocked. Prior to reinstalling the black marker cap over the marker tip it is best to confirm that the stylus cap is installed over the stylus end of the marker and not lodged inside of the black marker cap to prevent from destroying the marker tip from anything lodged inside of the black marker cap. The black marker end cap has a lanyard hole to hang the marker and also a side clip to attach the marker to the edge of a hard hat.

          Could be better
Overall, this marker is not that impressive, especially given the price point. Disappointing product from Milwaukee. At first, I was very happy with the marker. The tip seemed to keep it's shape very well. The touch screen tip worked as expected. The ink bleeds a little bit in wood, but that is expected of any marker. Why is this marker so disappointing? The clear plastic cap that protects the touch screen tip comes off very easily. When removing the cap for the marker and putting it on the end of the marker, like you would a Sharpie brand marker, the clear plastic cap sometimes gets stuck inside of the marker cap. The first time this happened, I did not realize it, and I attempted to put the marker cap back on the marker. This completely destroyed the tip. It went from being a "fine" tip (which is really closer to a medium size tip) to an extra, extra, extra, extra bold tip. For the sake of giving it a chance, I tried to keep using the marker. I found that the more that I used the marker, the more likely it was for the same scenario to happen. It has gotten to the point now that I expect it to get stuck in the marker cap more than I expect it not to. The "Fine" tip was never that fine to begin with, but now it is unusable for even the roughest of cuts. I expect a lot more from Milwaukee, and especially at the price point of this marker, and they really dropped the ball big time.
