Answer

According to Huck Magna-lok customer service they can be installed using conventional fastening tools. If that is the case I believe they would be no problem for this Milwaukee tool as long as using rivets within the range of the collet sizes provided. (3/16" - 1/8" - 5/32" -3/16").

This is our second Milwaukee rivet tool as the first one was stolen. Wasn't able to get the set again since it wasn't in stock but wouldn't go any other brand. Drove an hour to have it that day, store CSR even brought it to the front for me before I got there. Had the original one almost a year and not one issue and it was used a lot. Couldn't wait to open it. This tool makes life much more easier than those manual ones.

I probably have more Milwaukee tools than any other brand. And I have tons of batteries and chargers both 12v and 18v. And the one thing I can say is that Milwaukee really has figured out how to make a powerful battery fueled tool. I am usually wary of diving into lower voltage tools since I don't want to find myself with an under-powered tool. All of the Milwaukee tools I have in the 12 volt line up have outstanding performance and this tool is no exception. There is plenty of power for the job at hand. The tool is plenty fast for the kind of work I do - although I don't do high volume fabrication. This is perfect for people with HVAC and automotive projects, gutter and downspout work and such. This rivet tool offers a huge advantage over hand operated tools especially in terms of reducing fatigue. The quality of the rivet fit and finish is generally better than a hand tool as well. The nose of the tool is about an inch and a half long making it fairly easy to get into tight spaces. It has nose pieces to handle 3/32, 1/8, 5/32, and 3/16 rivets in any material including stainless, and these store conveniently on the tool itself. The spent pop rivet stems do not always fall into the collector but not really a big deal for me since my manual tool did not have a collector. Its a beefy well made tool, and after you start using it you will end up looking for things to rivet together. I certainly will be using more rivets vs sheet metal screws now that I have this tool. Much faster much cleaner and easy to use. Thank you Milwaukee and thank you Home Depot.

The jaws are NOT durable
Seems like the Jaws are not correctly designed. Ordered 2 of these tools and both of them failed withing 4-5 Hrs of use. Both times what failed is the Jaws. First tool had one of the 3 jaws cracked after 10 steel Cherry max rivets size 3/16". The second tool failed after assembling approx 100 cherry rivets size 1/8" this time the jaws became very dirty and they were not grabbing and pulling the rivets anymore. The jaws seem to work better for aluminum rivets, but I have to further test to confirm. The concept is really nice but the jaws must be redesigned in order for me to buy again. Pneumatic tools typical come with 2 half moon jaws instead of 3. Perhaps copying that design could improve the product. I also recommend you to test your products extensively before releasing them out for sale. Thanks

I really wanted to like this tool, but it is as slow to operate as a hand held, and does not pass the rivet pin through to the back holding box. The rivet pin pulls through and into the tool, but then after releasing the trigger, it comes back out the front and just sits there until you manually pull it out. You are supposed to be able to tip it backwards and have it fall into the box to hold the used pins so you can rapidly reload the tool. So two negatives on this when I could do the same thing with a hand powered tool at a lower cost. A hand powered model will also give you some tactile feedback as to how it is operating. Nice idea, but poor execution.

This excellent blind rivet tool far surpasses my old hand riveters. The big advantage of blind riveting is that it can be done from one side of the materials being fastened. A minor disadvantage is that the mandrel leaves a hole that might need to be filled and will slightly reduce the strength of the join, everything else being equal. I purchased my first hand riveter over 50 years ago in order to build an auto body and setting the thousands of rivets was an exhausting business. If I had this tool the job would have been faster and much less tiring. This tool has multiple heads to set 3/32 in., 1/8 in., 5/32 in. and 3/16 in. rivets. It also has a mandrel collector which is a great time saver if you have ever used manual riveters and had to collect hundreds of mandrels. As you start to press the trigger a work-light is turned on and the current battery capacity is displayed by a set of LEDs. All in all a very nice design.

I'm very impressed with my new Milwaukee M12 Cordless Rivet Tool and it does a very good job riveting. The 12v motor is powerful gives up to 40% more run time and 20% more power. It comes with four nose pieces, 3/32, 1/8, 5/32, and 3/16. The retention nose piece holds the rivet in any orientation and the mandrel collector is easy to remove and empty. There's a nice belt clip and also a tether hook for lanyards. The LED light is great for low light conditions. There's a fuel gauge to let you know how much life is left in the charge. This is a great tool and meets my expectations for Milwaukee quality. I'd definitely recommend the 12v Milwaukee Riveter for the professional or homeowner doing his own riveting.
