Blade not aligned with base
Saw wouldn't follow the cut line. First I found the shoe clamp adjustment from the factory was so loose the angle was changing mid cut. Adjusted shoe clamp tension and tried another cut with same outcome. On close inspection found the chuck holds the blade out of parallel relative to shoe. It's off by 5 degrees or more. Pathetic quality control, absolutely pathetic. This is the second Milwaukee jigsaw I've had to return. They used to be so good, but no more Milwaukee for me. Cheap Chinese crap.

To start off, let me say that the only reason I said I wouldn't recommend this jig saw is that it's just a bit underpowered and slow for cutting woods thicker than 3/4" thick. Spend the extra few dollars and buy the m18 jigsaw. It's more powerful and an overall better saw. Having said that, if you still decide to get this jig saw, it's a built extremely well, just like all other Milwaukee tools. It runs on the M12 battery so if you already have M12 tools, this will fit right in. The saw has great ergonomics and is nice and light. For light use, this is the jig saw to get. The jig saw comes with a free blade and I actually found it to be a fantastic blade. It's actually my go-to blade now.

Needed a Jigsaw that was not bulky. Since I had already purchased a Milwaukee M12 driver…. I figured I would give this one a shot since the batteries are interchangeable. I was pleasantly surprised… this jigsaw is great for quick cuts.

torque issue on baseplate hex screw, no blower/fan
Ok so first the good: The balance is great with a smaller m12 battery. Barrel grip is great since your hand is closer to the cut. Most jigsaws have your grip 8" or so from the cut and offset on some abstract feeling angle. Now the not good: The tension on the bevel lock was too light. Couldn't get it to lock on a 90 for more than a few inches of cutting. I fussed around with it a bit and removed a screw or 2 on the shoe. After a few minutes it was easy enough to see what the problem was. It was pretty difficult to correct. You'll appreciate a vise to hold it steady & upside down while fussing with the proper torque of the hex screw that determines the stiffness of the bevel lock. It's very difficult to get that screw back in. I used a portion of a cedar shim and a needle nose pliers. It might be easier as a 2 man project :/ Try the fix and you'll see why the shim was necessary :/ . It was sort of ridiculous. After adjusting it the first time, you'll probably have to take it apart again and readjust the torque. The bevel lock will probably be too stiff or too light. I got it close enough on the 2nd try. It's a very sensitive screw. 1/8 of a turn to about 3/16 of a turn will be result in very different tensions of the bevel lock. It's not so hard to fix with a vise, shim, needle nose pliers, alan/hex wrench, patience and some ingenuity. I wasted 10 of the 20 minutes I spent correcting it trying to reset the bevel lock tensioner hex screw without the tool being held steady. After I stormed to the truck for my portable vise it was fixed about 10 minutes later. Also there is no notable blower, if any at all to keep dust off the cut line. Neat little saw otherwise. Nice and compact for the little ford transit connect I run around in. Love the balance with a 2.0 m12 battery.

        Same issue as many have
I like Milwaukee but this saw is not a joy to use. First off I ordered online and when I got home I realized it was used and likely a return. I realized why after 2 cuts. The angle plate lever does not lock into position and so if you are not careful you start cutting at an angle especially since you have to really put some downward pressure due to the lower power and to try and avoid vibration. I have their skill saw too and while it's a bit underpowered, it was expected and works for small house projects. But regarding the jigsaw you might as well remove the angle plate and use the tool free hand. If my left arm hadn't already long served as composte in Mogadishu, I could probably use it to hold down the lever with my index finger and pull the trigger with my birdie finger. I guarantee I used my good birdie finger quite often for this tool. It will be going back to the store and likely find its way into the hands of the next online shopper.

Great little saw, once again Milwaukee doesn’t let me down!...
Great little saw, once again Milwaukee doesn’t let me down! I bought this for a new project, the compact size and power is exactly what I needed. Am getting all of my battery tools converted to Milwaukee. These tools stand up to the daily use and everything thing that entails, battery life is longer than like models of other manufacturers. Plus eliminating my other tools, I need only one type of battery/charger set up. And so far no Milwaukee tool has ever failed me.
