Very good drills overall. The batteries could use some restructure. I'm using the 6.0 battery with the impact and it's not very well balanced. It fell off a small table and the battery is now crooked and does not sit properly.

So many good things to say about this set. First, the drill. The design is done very well - there's a belt clip for convenient holstering, the led light that turns on right when you insert the battery to let you know you're ready to go, and the chuck, while metal and not rubber, has grooves so your fingers don't slip. There is a "fuel" gauge on the side that displays battery life. I like how, in driving mode, the drill spools up gradually instead of just going straight to full power. In addition to having 16 driving torque selections, there is a speed switch (setting 1 or 2) to give you more variability when set to drilling. This helps in situations where I was drilling through plastic, where you want to use the slow speed so the plastic doesn't melt. The drill is a bit louder than previous 12v ones I've owned, but the power is there with good venting to deal with heat. The impact driver has the same great exterior design, with the clip, "fuel" gauge, and led. It also feels very well balanced, with the weight resting in between my thumb and forefinger. It has 4 modes with max RPMs: 1300, 2400, 3300 and self-tapping 3300. The self-tapping mode is great because it goes full speed until it senses the screw taking hold, then it slows down; I used this a lot with wood screws in a recent project. The driver is also very light, so repeated use doesn't take a toll. I've only used this set for about a little over a month so I can't say much about the batteries other than I've had no issues with them. The larger battery obviously lasts about twice as long as the small one with a trade off in weight. Overall, though, I'm very pleased with this set and its performance with everything I've thrown at them over the past few weeks.

(What's this)
This Milwaukee M12 Fuel 12 Volt Lithium - Ion brushless cordless drill and impact driver combo kit w/charger & tool bag is a great addition for a DIY or professional handy man contractor that requires dependable power tools. Lightweight, durable, and versatile for a majority of applications in or outside the home. 4 Mode drive control allows greater precision and flexibility. Plenty of power for such a small size. Perfect for those tight spaces with not a lot of room for maneuverability. Comes with 2 batteries which makes the job go a little faster avoiding wait time while charging and doubles as a stand for the drill. Comes with a convenient tool bag large enough for other accessories to store and carry.

(What's this)
I like that both of these tools are light weight and compact. They fit my smaller hands nicely and work great in tight spaces-like between joists and studs. The 12-Volt 2.0 battery and 4.0 extended capacity battery have worked well for me but I haven't used either for more than an hour at a time so I'm interested to see how they do on longer jobs. I like how light they they are-ad says 6.6 and 2.8 lbs. of weight and they do have plenty of power and torque for what I've been doing. The "Self-Tapping Screw Mode" really works to help prevent over torquing screws and stripping out the hole or thread or head, The warranty for the tools is 5 years and 3 years for the batteries so keep your receipt and register your tools just in case-it's great having this kind of warranty rather than 1 yr. . Both of the tools have a nice led light on the front of them and an indicator on the tool that shows battery life. I like the storage bag. I'd rather have soft sided storage bags as they save me space and I can just throw my tools in at the end of a job rather than having to fit them into the designated slots of hard shell cases. This bag is plenty big enough to also carry a couple of boxes of bits, drivers, screws and a 25 ft cord.

This Milwaukee battery-powered, two-tool set is really nice. Both are small yet powerful. The size and weight are just right for small hands and they get into tight places easily. The batteries charge very quickly so there is no long wait time for using them. It is a bit difficult to remove the battery from the tool, but I am sure it will become easier in time. Each tool has its own belt clip and the included tool bag is really nice to have for keeping all organized and stored.

(What's this)
This Review is for a M12 Fuel 12 Volt Lithium-Ion Brushless Cordless 1/2 in Drill and Driver Combo kit. and yes it delivers.. I find that this drill and driver M12 12 Volt Lithium Brushless Cordless drill and driver kit combo are very handy to have. I find it extremely useful that when i have to drill holes and driver screws into them because i don't have to charge drill bits and driver bits. The charge time is very quick and responsive. I never have to worry that either of these tools will fall off my belt when using the handy belt clip, which really comes in handy because the weight and size of these tools is so comfortable. They both have plenty of power and good clutch settings. The LED Light is good at lighting up what you are working on another nice feature. This M12 Fuel 12 Volt Lithium Brushless Cordless Drill Driver and Hex Impact Driver are the lightest weight and most compact in a 12 Volt Cordless Drill and Impact. The M12 deliver 1,300 in LBS And 3,300 RPM The M12 Drill delivers 1700 RPM'S & 350 IN lbs. I really like the idea of the Redlithium intelligence prevents any damage to tool battery due to overheating or overloading. This combo kit is a must have kit to have, if you do not have this set, then please think about getting it. I am very happy with the quality of M12 tools, are made with pride and quality. It has a 4 mode drive control for more control over output spped power. This M12 1/4 in Hex Impact delivers 1300 in./lbs of torque. And the whole kit comes in a very nice sturdy case to keep it all safe. Very happy with the quality and performance of all M12 Tools.

(What's this)
This Milwaukee combo kit (#2596-22) includes the 2503-20 12 volt Drill/Driver and the 2553-20 12 volt Impact driver. Note that, as of this writing (the tools just came out), this kit is the same price as the identical kit but with a hammer drill/driver (#2598-22) instead of the drill/driver. So I cannot understand why anyone would buy this kit without the hammer feature? There is absolutely no upside that I can see—not even because the one without the hammer feature is easier to use because it’s lighter—the two drills weigh almost exactly the same (2 lbs 5.4 oz for the hammer drill, and 2 lbs 5.0 oz for the drill/driver). Consequently, even though these are great tools, because of the pricing I gave it only one star for value and don't recommend it. If Milwaukee dropped the price of this kit by $40 or $50, then I would give it a higher value rating and a recommendation. On to the review… These are the newest versions of these M12 tools. They are particularly light and compact. Besides the tools, the kit includes two batteries (one 2.0 battery and one 4.0 extended capacity battery), charger, belt clips (come attached to the tools) and the contractor bag. The warranty is 5 years for the tools and 3 years for the batteries. It’s worth mentioning that the contractor bag is particularly spacious and well made (see the photo). There’s plenty of room for storing additional batteries and drill/driver bits with the tools. Both tools include Milwaukee’s fuel gauge—press the trigger and the fuel gauge lights up to let you know how much charge is left in the battery pack. Both tools also have an LED that lights up the work. Partially pressing the trigger turns on the LED and it stays on for about 10 seconds after you release the trigger. By turning the torque selector/clutch collar you can set the drill from 2 to 16 to limit the torque while driving screws or you can set it to the drill position for drilling. And there are two speed settings: high (for drilling) and low (for driving screws). I routinely use cordless tools for doing electrical work where I often have to use auger type bits to drill through studs for running wire. To see how the drill would perform drilling large holes, I grabbed a 2x4 and a 1” auger type bit. I used the smaller battery to see how well it would perform knowing that the larger battery would perform at least as well. I set the speed to low (necessary when using auger bits so you get enough torque to drive the bit) and started drilling. In the end, I was quite impressed. This 12 volt drill was able to drill holes as quickly as my older 18v drill. The impact driver has a feature I don’t have on my older impact driver—Milwaukee calls it the Drive Control. It controls the rotation speed in four modes. Mode 1 goes from 0 to 1300 RPM, Mode 2 goes from 0 to 2400 RPM, Mode 3 goes from 0 to 3300 RPM, and mode 4 is designed for self-tapping screws. To change the modes, you press the circular arrow on the top to cycle through the modes. The instructions don’t go into detail about using the various modes—it just gives the speed ranges. I tried all four modes while driving 1½” screws into a 2x4. Mode 1 is very slow and it would take quite a while to seat the screw. I guess this mode is best for small screws or when you want complete control to make sure the screw doesn’t go in too far or strip. The second mode set the screws easily, but more slowly than the Mode 3. Mode 3 drove the screws right in. In Mode 4 you get full speed (0 to 3300 RPM) but when the screw begins to seat, the driver slows down for better control. To see how well this mode worked, I tried driving some self-tapping screws into a ⅛” piece of aluminum. Actually, it was pretty cool. The impact driver spun the screw very fast through its drilling tip, then slowed down when the threads started to bite. This gave excellent control over seating the screw. Overall, I think this is a great combo tool kit but because of the pricing, I can’t recommend it. If you’re spending this kind of money, you might as well buy the hammer drill kit—even if you don’t think you need the hammer feature—you never know, and it’s essentially free.
