Bad design
DO NOT BUY THIS TOOL…. Battery will come loose after about 10 seconds of use, Milwaukee wants it sent back to there repair center to be repaired then send it back to you, problem is it’s still going to have the same battery retainer and the issue will still happen again, Milwaukee did not change the battery design so you will go thru this again, BUY THE M18 one and save your self the headaches…….one battery after 5 uses tang is badly worn….Home Depot will not exchange because it is almost 2 years old, only used it once in awhile and got tired of it stopping, they will send it back but warned me it could be two months before I got it back…..

The M12 fuel is the best oscillating tool Milwaukee makes, and that's after pitting it against the M18. It's smaller, lighter and has the exact same power. Factoring in that it's cheaper, it's a hard case for the M18. I've also compared this to its yellow competitor and it far exceeds it in ease of use. It cuts wood faster, gets through thick nails and has a 5 year warranty as opposed to 3. If you need a multi-tool, the M12 is the best way to go.
If I had one gripe it's that I don't like the switch on. It can be dangerous if dropped so be sure to take care when using it.

I have had the chance to put this tool to use on some home repairs around my house. This is a great tool. At only 12 volts, the brushless motor gives it the same work output as an 18 volt or 20 volt brushed multi tool.
When doing wood work, it is nice to has a cordless sander next to the miter saw to quickly sand down the sharp edges and to make smooth any rough edges. I needed to make some plunge cuts into lumber that only this tool could make; that was when I realized the true power of this tool.
Unbeknownst to consumers like myself, Milwaukee chose to not incorporate a quick-change mechanism for the changing of attachments. While no tool is required to change an attachment, the operator is still required to loosen a bolt in order to change attachments. Other multi tools have a lever that pops off an attachment and for installation, the attachments simply snap on. When I am using the sanding pad attachment and I want to switch over to a blade attachment, I have to remove the sandpaper which means destroying the loop fastener material on the back of the sandpaper. Milwaukee needs to incorporate a true quick-changing mechanism into the 2.0 version of this tool. The sandpaper should wear out before the loop fastener material.

A great tool
I have used multitools for over 10 years, beginning with a grey corded one, then 2 other brands (teal and yellow). This is my favourite. Its very powerful and easy to grip, good speed control, minimal vibration, and with a good LED light. The blade change is not as easy as with the yellow, about the same as the teal. However, you can use most any blade with this tool. I’d use a 4 or 6 Ah battery if you’re going to use it for any length of time. It comes with a sanding pad adapter and a few pieces of sand paper. All in all, a fine tool.

Strong tool with poor build quality. Not dustproof!
I bought this after reading all the hype about the new M12 Fuel Multi Tool. Compared to my teal which is a workhorse, this one is definitely faster, no doubts. However, this has a more aggressive cutting angle and brushless motor, so increased cutting speed is of no surprise. What is surprising for a premium M12 tool though, is its non-ruggedness. After 5-6 test cuts on studs, the dust is everywhere inside the tool. Look at the photo! The sawdust is even blocking the LEDs from inside! Is that for real, Milwaukee?? Also, the battery insertion/removal is a pain. This is a tool that someone would intend to use with CP batteries for the compactness, portability, and maneuverability, but there's no way to do a quick battery change once the CP battery is out of juice. Probably the battery clips are going to fail at some point. In summary, this is a strong tool, but I doubt its longevity because of the poor manufacturing of the housing. Kind of a regret really, and will be going back to my dust-proof and overbuilt teal multi tool..

GREAT AND POWERFUL.
Went with the m12 so I can carry it around in my backpack, but its definitely not that light weight. Have not used it for an actual job yet, but I have tried cutting some wood around the shop to test it out and I have to say that the tool packs some real power, it sounds and feels like an 18v tool especially on its highest setting, but the vibration in my opinion is high ( compared to my atomic dewalt ), but high vibration is more so on low speeds on highest speed its smoother/better vibration. A must if you are invested in team red. I dnt think the m18 is even necessary with the power this seems to wield. It also does some pretty clean and str8 cuts in wood especially if you know what you’re doing. No regrets.

Great So Far
Just got it so I haven’t used it much. Love the tool free blade change.You do have to unscrew the bolt a little but much easier then needing the Allen wrench.
I have some old Craftsman blades and the holes don’t quite line up but it seems to hold them solid. Seems quiet, less vibration and solid construction. Brushless too.
It is longer then my old Craftsman multi tool, but not too heavy. I was looking forward to the release of this and look forward to using it.
