This pump is not designed to build any significant pressure. It would must likely, eventually damage the pump if the shower head was turned off. It does not have an automatic stop if back pressure is detected.

Super great pump! Used it for flooding our pond
I bought this pump specifically to flood our pond hockey rink and it did a great job. I got over an hour run time with an HD 12.0 battery and I had an HO XC8.0 to finish the pond off. We flooded the whole thing in about an hour and a half. Very impressive little pump!

Works great and super satisfied
This tool sure does the trick. It is pricy which is the only downside. I won't be using it much but when I do it'll sure work great. I'm running a 9amp battery and it just seems to go for forever. It also has quite a bit of power coming out of it to spit the water a decent ways away. Another really great Milwaukee product that I now own!

We have a low spot in our front yard next to our water meter. I would just let water sit there because it was such a pain to drag a long extension cord out to the spot and use my plug-in pump. This battery-operated pump was quick and easy to use. What I like about my new pump: 1. portable compared to plug-in style 2. self-priming 3. makes quick work moving water 4. the intake is at the end of a hose meaning you can stick it in very small crevices

This is awesome in a red box. My well went out, and I'm constantly hauling water, obviously the property water system is turned off, just the house runs off tanks. But the water is horrific that I get, so I started drinking (after treatment) the creek water. This sucks it out and into what ever so quickly. I also do remote concrete jobs where I need pressurized water to make concrete and clean the mixer after. Pair this thing with a 55 gallon water tank in your truck and you have a very economical water delivery system that is light weight, feels sturdy and as far as I can tell, seems like its going to last. It is Milwaukee after all.

Powerful, All on One Kit, Drains Water FAST
This is a great new product from Milwaukee for any of us that need to transfer water out of or into a container or away from a container. i.e. From a bad water heater into a drain or buckets, or draining a large aquarium, water feature, boat, the list goes on. WHAT YOU GET: In the box will be the pump itself, 3AH M18 battery, and battery charger. WHAT YOU NEED: Two garden style hoses with standard female ends. Reinforced is preferred so it doesn't collapse on the intake side. HOW TO USE: Charge the battery and insert into the covered battery compartment of the pump. Attach your garden hoses to the inlet and outlets of the pump. Place the intake hose (arrow on the pump to show direction of flow) into your water source, such as water feature, boat bilge, water heater output, aquarium, sump tank etc. As long as it's clean water this can pump it. Place your output hose wherever you need water pumped to, such as a drain, bucket, etc. Press the on button and the PUMP PRIMES ITSELF! The pump has a clear window to show that fluid is moving. Once the water has been drained shut off the pump after a few seconds, do not let it run dry for long. It does have an auto shut off if it runs dry for to long but you can damage the pump if you let it run dry. PERFORMANCE: This flows at 8 gallons per minute on a full charge. It has a max lift of 18 feet, and a max head of 75 feet. Incredible! Max safe water temp is 140F. This will quickly drain a full tub or water heater. I use this most commonly to change the water in my freshwater fish tank and it takes about 5 minutes to drain 40 gallons into my flower beds for a water change. That's amazing and WAY faster than using a hand pump or siphon. It refills just as fast. I also use it to do water changes on my outdoor water features and it goes nice and quick with no fuss or mess. OVERALL: This is typical top shelf Milwaukee quality. The batteries are powerful and last long, the pump itself has a 5 year warranty and always works well with no hiccups. I love the self priming feature and the high flow. I'd recommend this for sure.

Very Nice, Lightweight, Self-Priming, High Volume
So this pump is great. It’s a lifesaver if you get flooding from rain. Fill a small pond. Empty a tub. Fill a water tank. Broken washing machine full of water. Just about anything involving moving water. It has a sufficient run time considering is battery powered, about half hour. Self-priming meaning you don’t have to fill it with water for it to work. Just connect the hose and turn it on. I pumped water 20 foot in the air with no issues. Moves a lot of water, I got about 200 gallons, maybe a little more, on a single 5.0 battery. This will hold up to a 9.0 battery. I would estimate on a flat surface you could get 400+ gallons moved on the 9.0 battery but that’s just a guess. This does not come with the higher capacity batteries though. This kit comes with the XC extended capacity. I already own the larger batteries. Impeller is replaceable and does not need to be taken to a shop to get it replaced. Remove the four screws in the front and boom. Viewing window in the front lets you see that the water is moving and the impeller. If something isn’t right you will be able to tell easily without having to take everything apart. Only weighs 8.5 pounds with a 9.0 battery inside so it’s very portable and easy to carry anywhere. No fuel needed, No power cords needed, No risk of electrocution!!!

A strong workhorse from Milwaukee
This Milwaukee transfer pump kit comes with everything you need in one package. The pump, an18-Volt Lithium-Ion battery (which is interchangeable with other Milwaukee tools) and a charger. It is a self-priming pump that automatically turns off once there is no more water flow, which is a great feature. The pump can move about 140 gallons on each battery charge at a rate of 8 gallons per minute. It can handle up to an 18" lift which is why I called it a strong workhorse. I use it to empty the underground water tank in my pondless waterfall when I need to maintain the pumps or tank. If you need to move water, then this kit is for you.

Great Idea, Great Tool, Limited in What Can be Pumped
This Milwaukee Battery powered pump was a “Why Didn't I think of That?” tool to me. A portable pump that can go anywhere and uses the same battery in other Milwaukee tools – a wonderful combination. It's light, self-priming, and fast, pumping a reported 8 gallons per minute. The two male brass fittings for input and output fit standard garden hoses, though Milwaukee recommends using a 3/4” diameter inlet hose for maximum flow rate, which is larger than most common garden hoses. The fittings come with plastic caps (nice) but it's easy to lose them – I wish they were held captive on the pump. The only disappointment to me was the limitation Milwaukee puts on the liquids the pump can transfer: no flammable liquids (understandable), no potable water or liquids, no salt water, no laundry discharge water, and no pond/river/stream water – nothing where foreign objects (including sand) may be sucked into the pump. It is “evaluated for use with clean water only” per the instructions. I'm sure some of that is to limit Milwaukee's liability, and I'm equally sure the pump will work with less-than-clean-water. I know, because I used it to drain about 10 gallons of rain/lake water from a boat and it worked like a charm, even sucking up a few dead bugs. I also followed the instructions to pump clean water for at least 30 seconds after pumping “anything but clean water.” Obviously Milwaukee knows users will pump dirty water occasionally, and they conveniently include instructions on replacing/clearing the impeller - even providing the catalog number for replacement parts. Given all that, and Milwaukee's reputation for quality tools, I think this is a great tool and recommend it for anyone who needs a small battery-powered pump – for “clean water only” of course.
