What is the micron droplit size on the fine mist?

Asked by University June 11, 2020
1
Answer

To get the droplet size you would need to know the psi, angle of the nozzle, viscosity and specific gravity of the product being sprayed. Manufacturer's usually list this information within the part number based on 40 psi. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear to be the case with this part number. The easiest way figure out the answer to your question is to search for an online Spray Nozzle Flow Rate Calculator or try calling HOME Depot for assistance.

Does the pump recirculate chemicals into the tank to keep them mixed?

Fantastic product with some flaws
Customer review from milwaukeetool.com logo
This is definitely one of my top ten favorite Milwaukee products and it helps me get my complicated yard sprayed in under 15 minutes. It has also been used successfully to spray pesticides high up into a Magnolia tree, saving the damaged tree (after a lot of rinsing of course). Pros: I like the design of the powered base, switch location, comfortable to wear, awesome tank lid, strainer cup is handy, great battery life, excellent spray range and pattern Cons: the wand trigger could be improved, would like a wind cone attachment, the water pickup inside the tank is in a far corner so if you lean in the wrong direction it can drop pressure, cracked tank* *Unfortunately my tank started leaking shortly after purchase which led to poison dripping on my legs and clothing. I took the bottom apart and found that the tank body had two tiny cracks inside the pump area (picture attached). The unit is always stored in the house and has never been out in cold weather. After reading some of the other negative reviews, I've determined that I would like to see a revised gen 2 of this product to address those issues, or a smaller M12 variant better for residential use...I would definitely buy it.

AMAZING Sprayer with one major, fixable flaw
Customer review from milwaukeetool.com logo
I bought this sprayer and several additional tanks to tackle the weeds in my beds, the unrelenting clover and chickweed in my yard, and to spray for insects in my yard - those hellacious mosquitoes! The sprayer is amazing, quite comparable to a much more expensive orange and white branded sprayer used by professional landscape companies. The first day I had it, I sprayed seven 4 Gallon tankfuls on one 5.0 battery and it still had all four battery lights lit up, so it is ridiculously energy efficient. I cannot say enough good things about the sprayer and plan on donating all my other sprayers to others in need. BUT, Milwaukee seriously needs to go back to the drawing board on the actual backpack design. The straps are too thin and not padded enough for carrying more than 32 pounds on your back at once (water weighs 8 pounds per gallon). And, the straps aren’t the major issue, there is an immediate, desperate need for some serious padding in the lower back area. After a day of use, I woke up the next morning feeling like I’d been body slammed by a WWE wrestler in my lower back from a full days use of carrying a heavy backpack with essentially no padding in the lower back area. My back will take a few days to recover and spray some more, and I need to spray, having two acres of what feels like all clover! Come on Milwaukee, I expected better testing and wearability for a heavy tool! Please add major padding to the lower back of this backpack! This product was too new to read any reviews before my purchase, so I felt the need to warn future buyers.

So far this has been a great sprayer. I did have one previously which did not work on arrival but it was quickly replaced by Milwaukee. I like this sprayer because I don't have to worry about cross contamination. I have one for Pesticides, another for Roundup, Herbicides and for Natural spraying (fruit trees, etc). I hook them on the wall with their built in hook. I like that it can be adjusted from barely a dribble to a full high reach spray. It also works with my standard 18v Milwaukee battery which is a great benefit as well. I don't have to workout one arm pumping away. The pack is a bit heavy but I have adapted a holder to the back of my tractor that I use to carry it throughout my property.

I have purchased 7 of these backpacks, they lasted 1 1/2 weeks. The handle is the biggest issue, it leaks and the trigger spring breaks causing the pump not to turn off. Very disappointed in Milwaukee. I wasted a lot of money on this equipment, I do not recommend until they fix some issues.

Convinced a buddy of mine to ditch his manual pump and took advantage of the 2-pack deal while it was 25% off. He bought two high output 3.0 batteries so he'll never have to pump again. 5 stars!

Fantastic product as usual from Milwaukee. I’ve actually increased the efficiency of my weed spray mix as my previous sprayer for 2 gallons would only last about 30 min worth of spraying where 2 gal in the Milwaukee will last me 2 hrs straight or more. Only gripe is there is not sufficient padding on the shoulder straps for the weight of the fully filled pack.

Seeds Program Review
(What's this)
I have a several hundred square feet of roof and pavement that I treat periodically for moss. I've been using a manual pump backpack sprayer that's tiring to keep pumping, so I thought this M18 sprayer would be a great solution. I'm an older guy and since the sprayer pretty heavy even empty I used it with only 1.5 gallons (12 lbs) of solution at a time.. The fact that the backboard is hard plastic doesn't help the comfort level. With the smaller amount of solution I got along pretty well and was able to climb the ladder to the roof and spot-spray the moss. I really appreciated the high pressure jet - I was able to spray under my 12' deep solar array and could spot spray a wide area on the roof around where I was standing. The adjustable nozzle adjustment is very sensitive - it's about a quarter turn from jet to mist. The handle has two locks - one to lock it open and one to lock it closed. There is a basket strainer under the tank cap. The holes in the strainer are larger than the holes in the solution intake at the bottom of the tank so particles could get through that would clog the intake. Although it's not shown in the instructions, it's pretty easy to remove and clean the tank intake when the tank is empty - a quarter turn counter-clockwise releases it. The hose and wand keeper are on the right side. I'm left-handed so I have the hose draped across my front while spraying, but the hose is long enough this wasn't an issue. The pump and hose are built into the tank and the motor that drives the pump is in the base. When it quit spraying and the tank was level, there was still some solution in the tank. I used the tank drain to empty the tank and there was a little more than a pint of solution left in the tank. On the roof I found that if I leaned to the left (since the intake is on the left side of the tank) I could drain the tank down to a couple of tablespoons of solution left. After spraying 3 gallons, the XC5.0 battery I used was down one light on the battery gauge. The battery compartment is large - I was able to install an M18 HD12.0 battery in it, but won't be using it since I don't need the sprayer to be any heaver.

Seeds Program Review
(What's this)
This sprayer is a monster! First, this is not a sprayer that you pull out to take care of the half dozen dandelions invading your lawn. This thing is a high capacity, high performance spraying system. You'd use this to take care of the neighborhood's dandelion problems! It's big, and heavy, especially with 4 gallons in it! It is a backpack so the weight is pretty well distributed, and because it's battery operated it doesn't require you to pump. The coolest part is that the tank, and sprayer are separate from the backpack, that means you can have a tank for grass killer and one for fungicide and one for water, with no risk of cross contamination. Given its size, and costs, (battery and charger, the tool and separate tanks) this is a professional tool.
