Questions & Answers

Can this run my perpetual electric powered completely-random-yet-redundantly-specific-question box? Like how many hours on say…the medium red battery last? I read the instructions & it didn’t say. Box was purchased at a mysterious Chinatown basement.

Answer This Question

The answer depends entirely on how much power the "perpetual electric powered completely-random-yet-redundantly-specific-question box" actually draws. The inverter provides: 120V AC output and 175W continuous power maximum.

Can I charge my M18 batteries with this?
    ByJul 7, 2026
    1 Answer |
    Answer This Question

No — the M18 175W Powered Compact Inverter cannot charge your M18 batteries. It provides 120V AC, USB, and USB-C power output from an M18 battery, but it does not function as a charger. To recharge M18 batteries, you’ll need an M18 charger

Will it inflate an air mattress with built in pump
        ByMay 19, 2026
        1 Answer |
        Answer This Question

The M18™ 175W Powered Compact Inverter (2846-20) can power many low wattage 120V devices using an M18 battery. If the built-in pump draws 175 watts or less (almost all do), the Milwaukee inverter will inflate your air mattress easily.

          Answer This Question

Hey, Daniel. Yes, the inverter can power a propane heater fan if the fan draws 175W or less. Most small heater fans fall in this range but check your heater’s specs to be sure.

Will it run a coffee maker standard counter top
            ByMar 20, 2026

            Answer This Question

Hey, Mario. No, the M18 175W inverter will not run a standard countertop coffee maker. You would need a higher-capacity power source, such as the MX FUEL™ CARRY-ON™ 3600W/1800W Power Supply for that application.

The Milwaukee 2846-20 is one of my favorite M18 tools. It's lightweight, fits easily in a travel bag, and is perfect for trips, the park, camping, or power outages. It easily powers laptops, small fans, and charges phones through the USB-A and USB-C ports. Just snap in any Milwaukee M18 battery and you're ready.

I paired this with a forge battery and have been using it to power all kinds of small appliances. Works great!
                by
I am enjoying this tool so far. What surprised me is that it's capable of fast charging my phone at least some of the time. Maybe depends on the battery I'm using with it. I use it when working on a jobsite with no working outlets and I can see potential for using this item during power outages at home as well. No complaints so far although it would be nice to have extra usb ports on it. Its nice that it has both usb and usbc so I can share with others who have different phones.

Awesome portable power source. Can use it to charge laptops, phone, watch, and smaller electronics. I can even get it to run a fan! Comes in clutch on days when the power runs out, or when I dont want to leave my truck idling. This helps me get my essential for my job technology all charged up and ready to keep going. Highly recommend this, I bought one and I use it constantly!

Honestly a great product many different uses but a grade a product would highly recommend for anyone with issues finding power on the job site.

I finally had to replace the Milwaukee M18 battery that I have been using for about 10 years. I was very pleased with the runtime and the power of the battery. The new one so far has lived up to my expectations.

Highly recommended, excellent quality for the price. The durability is very good. I have the rapid charger and they charge extremely fast. I use it for HVAC every day and they withstand drops.

The compact inverter does exactly what it says it does. Its size make it easy to throw in a tool box or bag. While I have only used it to power a charger, charge USB items like my phone and to run a fan, it has worked. It does drain the battery pretty quickly when I ran a box fan on high. While it does fine as an outlet and USB charger it does lack power to run bigger items. I would definitely recommend for someone wanting a small compact power source. Just don't expect it to power anything big.

Great little accessory- wanted to have something accessible in an emergency. I already have a ton of Milwaukee batteries so seems like a no brainer. I do wish the wattage was higher so it could run larger appliances - but understand it is limited so that it can accept all batteries. If there was a “Forge Only” version, perhaps wattage could be higher. Either way, it’s a great offering from Milwaukeee.
