Great long lasting tool and batteries
I have used this drill heavily in metal fabrication work for almost seven years and it is just now starting to show signs of mechanical failure in the clutch mechanism under heavy load. Much longer than I expected from such a small package. The batteries I purchased with it are still functional with almost seven years of use too. I will continue to buy M18 products after my experience with this drill. I have a Milwaukee corded sheet rock screw gun that is more than 20 years old and still working like new and a corded 3/4" drill from the 1950's that is still working like a champ too.

Good Tool
I should have purchased the FUEL model (newest at the time). It seems to have good power and is pretty efficient with the battery power. I was drilling 2" holes through a steel container door with a hole saw and when I started to get through the steel it would 'catch' as is normal. The drill would not work for usually less than a second before it started to function properly again. I have only used it to drill sixteen 2" holes. The FUEL model may do the same thing even though I wish I got that one.

Best Compact Hammer Drill Available
Milwaukee has come out with a new line of compact 18 volt drills and impact driver with brushless motors. The compact hammer drill/driver is Model 2702-20 and has 500 inch-lbs torque. It weighs only 3 lbs and has a width of 7 3/8 inches. This is a significant reduction in size and weight from the full size model, which is 4.1 lbs and 9 inches wide. After using the compact hammer drill, I am very pleased with both its performance and ergonomics.
The 2702-20 Compact Hammer Drill includes a brushless motor, which provides increased tool life and power. It includes a convenient dial for selecting hammer, drilling or driver modes With a 2 amp-hour battery, it feels like a 12 volt tool, but has the power of a full size drill. I was very impressed at how easily it drilled through concrete block. This is an ideal tool for use in tight spaces with a 2 amp-hour battery. For larger hammer drilling tasks, snap on a 4 or 5 amp-hour battery and work all day. Highly recommended!!

Awesome tools
A friend told me they were better I finally listened I tried them out once I tried them I have switched from the other competitor brand a piece at a time won't go back

Great gun, small issue
I find the battery exceptional but the forward / reverse button is very. Close to the trigger causing some grief when using the gun all day. It gets tiresome having to reset the direction you are drilling all the time
