Q:I am very Pro Milwaukee as far as supporting the brand and happily have over $10,000. In tools that I use without issue, except the sprayer, I bought one last fall used it 2X then stored it in a heated garage for winter, got it out this year & it leaks

In no way did this sprayer come close to 3 stars.
They don't even last 1 minute. Most come broken, leaking, etc. Even the Milwaukee service center in San Diego has to change locations every year to keep the angry customers at bay. Best bet, just get the 3 year warranty, buy about 10. That way you can just make 1 trip to Home Depot and return about 7 right off the bat.
And careful what ya wear, clothes wise, this thing WILL leak all over you.
YES!!I have run through about 10 of these. The last one I donated it to Milwaukee so they can figure out the chinese part.

Tool melts battery terminals
I am happy with the operation of the unit overall, but it has melted the negative contact on my XC8.0 battery pack. I have seen many reports of this problem.

FAIL - 2nd unit in a row
For the second Milwaukee M18 trimmer, it has had a failure in the head unit and is non operational. Here is a summary of the situation (and my next steps):
PROPERTY: One acre property, with about 1/2 an acre in grass (with long common area with culvert and community mailbox). The remaining property is wooded.
USE: Personal use around house, approximately every other week for about 2 hours of run time.
FAILURE: At the head unit and shaft (breakage)

On my 3rd tank, now leaking.
I purchased two sprayers in March of 2020. Two tanks, two motors. The backpack is fantastic due to the hip belt. Backpacking is one of my hobbies and I cannot understate the importance of a properly configured hip belt, with nearly all of the backpack weight carried on the hips, when carrying heavy backpacks. Everything about the sprayer is great, EXCEPT FOR THE TANKS. My two original tanks eventually leaked from cracks, a third I received from Milwaukee now leaks. This is a common issue.

Mixed Feelings - I think it is melting my battery
I love the trimmer. Weight, power and performance is as good as my heavier gas trimmer.
My issue is that it has melted the terminals on a 12 and 5 aH battery.
One battery is 6 months out of warranty. The other has a month left. I’m afraid to use it again with a $300 battery at risk.

Tank leaks but can be fixed
Bought a brand new one. Unsuprisingly the tank is leaking. I then spent ~ 40 min to fix it as I figured out it may require more time to get Milwaukee's replacement.
Here is what I did:
1) remove screws on the tank's bottom to open the black base cover. There are four white plastic fittings under the cover.
2) Fill tank with some water to spot the leaking fitting (My unit leaks on fitting 1). Empty the tank
3) Unscrew the fitting by turning Part B counterclock wise while holding Part A in position . Yes, the two parts are seperated but water tight.
4) Add some layers of teflon tape to the thread ( I also added a thin layer of PTFE thread sealant) .
5) Screw the fitting back to position.
6) Refill the tank with water to check the leakage.
7) If no leakage, rotate Fitting 1&2's Part A to inward direction so that the whole back cover can be placed back

Absolute garbage
This thing is expensive and it's absolute garbage right out of the box. Leaking chemicals all down my back from inside the hose connection point at the tank. Just spent over 20 minutes on hold with Milwaukee and they hung up on me. I own many many thousands of dollars of Milwaukee tools and will never purchase another one. What a piece of crap. Clearly other people are having the same issue in Milwaukee is not willing to do anything about it. What a trash company.

Don't buy
There is a problem with these right now leaking! It's definitely not worth $299 tool only. I bought the Ryobi sprayer with battery and charger for $149. It works just fine just not as fancy or as high pressure rated only 90psi compared to milwaukee 120psi, but the Ryobi WORKS!
