What is the micron droplit size on the fine mist?

Asked by University June 11, 2020
1
Answer

To get the droplet size you would need to know the psi, angle of the nozzle, viscosity and specific gravity of the product being sprayed. Manufacturer's usually list this information within the part number based on 40 psi. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear to be the case with this part number. The easiest way figure out the answer to your question is to search for an online Spray Nozzle Flow Rate Calculator or try calling HOME Depot for assistance.

There will probably be enough power to run the trimmer; the question is for how long. Barring physical fitment, the bigger the battery (Amp Number), the longer the runtime. I have the blower and I can get roughly 10 minutes of runtime with my 5.0 battery. Luckily, I have 3 of these, so I can just swap out if I need to. If you are just doing light edging or touching up places where your mower couldn't get to, you should be fine. If you are edging 100' of sidewalk or clearing out drainage ditches, you choices are: buy a bigger battery, or wait for the 2.0 to recharge and go again.

These tool systems attracted me because I can change out the business end of the tool but only have the one motor and control unit to be concerned with. That saves storage space. In use the string trimmer is easy to load and a quick knock on the ground advances the string when necessary. The trimmer line is tough enough not to break too easily and it does a great job of cutting through grass, weeds and some woody material. Control at the trigger is very good. The edger is amazing and it cleans up the edges of the lawns very well. The 8.0 Ah battery still had half its power in reserve after string trimming and edging for about 50 minutes and walking about a half mile.

This is an awesome trimmer! It replaces a Ryobi cordless unit which I now see was a total waste of money. I switched over to Milwaukee cordless tools a few years ago and it is awesome that alll of the tools run on the same battery packs. I must have a dozen batteries so I never run out of juice. I look forward to adding a couple of the other accessories that are available for this unit.

Fantastic product as usual from Milwaukee. I’ve actually increased the efficiency of my weed spray mix as my previous sprayer for 2 gallons would only last about 30 min worth of spraying where 2 gal in the Milwaukee will last me 2 hrs straight or more. Only gripe is there is not sufficient padding on the shoulder straps for the weight of the fully filled pack.

(What's this)
I have a several hundred square feet of roof and pavement that I treat periodically for moss. I've been using a manual pump backpack sprayer that's tiring to keep pumping, so I thought this M18 sprayer would be a great solution. I'm an older guy and since the sprayer pretty heavy even empty I used it with only 1.5 gallons (12 lbs) of solution at a time.. The fact that the backboard is hard plastic doesn't help the comfort level. With the smaller amount of solution I got along pretty well and was able to climb the ladder to the roof and spot-spray the moss. I really appreciated the high pressure jet - I was able to spray under my 12' deep solar array and could spot spray a wide area on the roof around where I was standing. The adjustable nozzle adjustment is very sensitive - it's about a quarter turn from jet to mist. The handle has two locks - one to lock it open and one to lock it closed. There is a basket strainer under the tank cap. The holes in the strainer are larger than the holes in the solution intake at the bottom of the tank so particles could get through that would clog the intake. Although it's not shown in the instructions, it's pretty easy to remove and clean the tank intake when the tank is empty - a quarter turn counter-clockwise releases it. The hose and wand keeper are on the right side. I'm left-handed so I have the hose draped across my front while spraying, but the hose is long enough this wasn't an issue. The pump and hose are built into the tank and the motor that drives the pump is in the base. When it quit spraying and the tank was level, there was still some solution in the tank. I used the tank drain to empty the tank and there was a little more than a pint of solution left in the tank. On the roof I found that if I leaned to the left (since the intake is on the left side of the tank) I could drain the tank down to a couple of tablespoons of solution left. After spraying 3 gallons, the XC5.0 battery I used was down one light on the battery gauge. The battery compartment is large - I was able to install an M18 HD12.0 battery in it, but won't be using it since I don't need the sprayer to be any heaver.

This sprayer is a monster! First, this is not a sprayer that you pull out to take care of the half dozen dandelions invading your lawn. This thing is a high capacity, high performance spraying system. You'd use this to take care of the neighborhood's dandelion problems! It's big, and heavy, especially with 4 gallons in it! It is a backpack so the weight is pretty well distributed, and because it's battery operated it doesn't require you to pump. The coolest part is that the tank, and sprayer are separate from the backpack, that means you can have a tank for grass killer and one for fungicide and one for water, with no risk of cross contamination. Given its size, and costs, (battery and charger, the tool and separate tanks) this is a professional tool.

(What's this)
This arrives ready to go with minor assembly. No tools needed. Being tool only, you'll need to supply a Milwaukee M18 battery pack. It easily snaps into the sealed battery compartment. The tank holds 4 gallons and fills with a large cap that has a strainer, eliminating spills and junk falling into the tank. Of course being the switch tank system you can swap and switch tanks at will or remove the tank for total cleaning away from the pump and back straps. Meaning you can take numerous types of product premixed to the site and just swap tanks as you work. The wand is very comfortable. You use your whole hand to hold and spray, not just your thumb like so many other sprayers. After a full day, you'll appreciate that. The sprayer end is all metal and a brass nozzle. You can spray all types of liquids, fertilizers, cleaners through this, as long as they are not flammable. I really like the adjustable pressure and the knob is easy to reach while wearing the sprayer, up to 120psi and 25 foot spray distance per the box. You can reach the eaves on most two story houses for bug control or cleaning. The pump is nearly silent so it's nice to sneak in and out of jobs without disturbing residents. The hose comes out on the right side and is long enough and flexible enough to reach both sides of you. The shoulder straps are much wider than other sprayers. I would recommend this sprayer to someone in the landscape industry or for those with large yards, house/siding cleaners, people with hunting plots, anyone looking to add a great spraying tool to their Milwaukee M18 arsenal.

(What's this)
M18 18-Volt 4 Gal. Lithium-Ion Cordless Switch Tank Backpack Pesticide Sprayer (Tool-Only) This is a great backpack sprayer. As with every Milwaukee tool I have used it is very well made. This model does not come with a charger or battery so you will either need to purchase those or if you have M18 batteries from other Milwaukee tools you are ready to go. The literature indicated a Redlithium XC3 battery would provide up to 12 tanks of spraying per charge. I used a 5ah battery and there was plenty of room left for an even larger battery. The sprayer came with two nozzles, one being an adjustable brass nozzle and the other being plastic. The brass nozzle worked great. I was able to adjust it to a stream and easily reach the eves on the back of my house, they are about 15 feet up. The sprayer pressure can be adjusted via a knob, there are five settings, the first two put out so little pressure that I have no idea what you would use them for. I love the idea that you can swap the tanks, it would be great to have one tank with insecticide and another with herbicide. One downfall to the swapable tank is the pump is built into the tank, this makes the replacement tanks a bit expensive. My other concern was that the hose and sprayer are also attached to the tank making it awkward to work with the tank when it is removed, it would have been really nice to have a quick disconnect to remove the hose and wand. It can also be a bit of a challenge to put this on your back, it is quite heavy and getting into it is a challenge. I place it on the tailgate of my truck and back into it. Once on it is comfortable and easy to operate. I was able to reach the on/off switch with it on my back but I had to make sure the wand was laying where I could reach it. Overall I think this is a great product primarily targeted to professionals. Pros Quality built Great Design Long spray distance Cons Heavy Interchangeable tanks expensive

(What's this)
Milwaukee's 4-Gallon cordless switch tank backpack sprayer makes the job easier! Keep in mind this is the tool only, the M18 (Batteries) and (Chargers) are sold separately and can be found here (https://www.milwaukeetool.com/Products/Batteries-and-Chargers) and purchased through Home Depot. Out of the box this product weighs 16.7lbs. Add the 4-gallons of liquid and the battery, the weight quickly goes above 50lbs. The harness is strong enough to hold a lot more, so no worries there. The harness has a medium soft sponge built in for added support for the waste and shoulders. There is also a front strap that pulls the shoulders straps tight to the chest for additional support. The hose is protected by an outside rubber sleeve and stretches 50" from the trigger handle to tank. The wand is made of stainless steel and is 24-3/4" in length. The sprayer comes with three nozzels, Water, Adjustable, and Fan angle. Unlike most backpack spraying products, there are no filter screens between the wand, nozzle or tank and hose. The tank removes easily by way of two hinged latches front and back. The battery compartment is conveniently located on the wearers right side of the power base. Both the Power Switch and the five position Flow Rate dial are located on the wearers left side of the base. The Trigger has a plastic handle lock clip to prevent accidental discharge. Note: make sure to discharge the trigger after cleaning, as there may be residual low pressure fluid trapped. The screw on tank cap has a handle for easy handling. The base features a convenient nozzle holder for the wand and any attached straight nozzle. You can store the wand with the fan angle nozzle in the holder. However, it would need to be detached from the trigger and sit facing upwards. Doing this could damage the o-rings and is not a good idea. While spraying the pump experienced cavitation below 1-gallon. A quick shake of the tank resolved this problem each time. I was able to get it to spray down to 1/8 of the tank, before refilling. Additional information as well as the replacement parts list can be found here (https://www.milwaukeetool.com/Products/Outdoor-Power-Equipment/Sprayers/2820-20PS#sp-specs) Suggestions...Add compartment for nozzle storage. Add additional and softer padding to harness. Add a screen before or after trigger handle to minimize clogging.

This is another quality Milwaukee tool product. You can't go wrong with this brand. The backpack sprayer is a convenient way to spray any number of jobs out there. It can be used as stated for pesticides around the property, though it can be used for anything else that needs spraying. It has a four gallon capacity. The best thing is that it is not a manual pump. It is powered by the rechargeable M18 REDLITHIUM XC3.0 battery - not included. Just squeeze the sprayer grip and spray. Extra tanks can be purchased to use for different chemicals. The tank is easy to remove, fill, replace and secure with the latch. It can spray up to twenty five feet at 20 - 120 psi. Not sure how much this unit weighs, but it is heavy when empty. Each gallon of liquid weighs over eight pounds, so it is a heavy load.
