Questions & Answers

can you sell this tool kit for 250?

Asked by kalobin December 15, 2016

They could, if you waited long enough. I happened to get it for 229 a year later, but it only showed up for a couple days before reverting back higher. Reeled me in though, with all the glowing reviews, even though my air impacts do the job just fine for my particular uses.

Do I get any discount or promotion on this purchased?

Asked by Vince August 29, 2016

Thank you for your recent inquiry with The Home Depot. Our online prices are subject to periodic, unpredictable fluctuations due to many factors including a national average set by our corporate office along with the manufacturers and vendors. The store prices are based regionally. Stores may offer deeper discounts on products to make room for new inventory. We appreciate your business and look forward to serving you in the future. Thank you for shopping Home Depot.

What is the torque ring for?

Asked by boater999 April 8, 2016

Whats the warranty and can i get my military discount onlune since this isnt in stores

Asked by Jay March 9, 2016

The warranty on the tools is 5 years provided its for private use and not commercial , batteries have a 3 year warranty. the warranty is only valid if you purchase the tool through Milwaukee approved vendors. I recommend you look at the tool that you want on their website, and it will list you a group of approved vendors so can get the full warranty on your tool. in regards to military discounts I'm not sure if they can be applied.

where can you get the protective cover for the tool?

Asked by sirregnits March 7, 2016

Homedepot web site carries the M18 boot cover for around $36 + tax. Sometimes they might have it in store but you should call first or look at the website for nearby stores that might have it in stock.

Does the new kit have 5.0 batteries

Asked by Greasemonkey February 8, 2016

Yes, I bought my tool less than 3 weeks ago and it came with 2 xc 5.0 red lithium batteries.

Why so expensive

Asked by Charley February 5, 2016

quality.cheap out and you'll pay more in the end.

Free XC5.0 battery?

Asked by Dan November 29, 2015

The description states "with free battery", but it's not really free - it's an extra battery which you are paying for. You can buy the bare tool currently (12/15/16) for $199. That would give you 429 - 199 = $230 for a charger and batteries. You can buy a charger and one 5.0 amp battery for $149 or a 4.0 amp for $139.00. What you need in batteries depends on your usage. If you are a casual user and don't want/have/need other M18 tools, one 4.0 amp battery would be plenty. I bought the high impact two years ago and have never had to change out a fully charged 4.0 amp battery. It would easily take off all of the lug nuts on 4 wheels and reinstall them and have plenty of battery left. That said, I have two 4.0 amp batteries and on 5.0 amp. I love their shopvac and carry it with two batteries in my motor home or put one on my led work light. I do love this impact wrench however. In the two years that I have had it, it has never failed to bust a nut including the large rusted nuts on my brush hog blades and that's using a 1/2 to 3/4 adapter. It's really quite a brute.

What is the difference between the millwakee 2763-20 and the millwakee 2763-22?

Asked by Jack November 26, 2015

They use the second number in the suffix to indicate the number of batteries in a combo kit, so 22 means it has two batteries. The 20 means it has zero batteries, and only includes the bare tool. Combo kits would have the Dual M18/M12 charger along with the battery, Dual meaning it can handle both the M12 series using 12V battery packs as well as the M18 18V packs. Generally higher voltage packs can put out more power, assuming everything else in the pack is equal like mAh capacity of the individual cells.

I am confused about this tool
This tool seems to be very strong when it works but it doesn’t work but two or three seconds at a time every three seconds it shuts off and then start back up again no matter what battery I put in it I know it’s not the battery shutting off because with a full charge battery 5.0 batteries it shuts off every three seconds three to 5 seconds and it comes right back on again I just bought this tool and For the most part it has rode around in my truck for a year. So I haven used it but a few times until recently. It didn’t shut off like this until recently the first few times I used it it was fine it is been in a clean and dry environment the whole time inside the toolbox of my pickup. It does not shut off every few seconds unless it is under a load.

I highly recommend this drill to anybody that wants a great tool that will be your go to tool. So...
I highly recommend this drill to anybody that wants a great tool that will be your go to tool. So far it has helped me remove all nuts and bolts from 4 different cars chassis. From level one which is great for low impact and precision fastening, to level 2 which is powerful to pull out even the most stubborn of nuts and bolts. The led light help a lot, especially when working at night or in dark areas. This impact drill does it all ,you can't go wrong with this. The batteries that it comes with seem to last for a very long time ,and I see no diminishing power even when the battery is at 20% power or less. "You get what you pay for" and so far this has gone beyond my expectations. you won't be disappointed if you buy the M18 fuel, especially with the 5 year warranty on the tool and 3 years on the batteries, can't beat that. The only negative thing I have had so far with this tool is the length of time that it takes for a completely drained battery to charge. I will take roughly 40-50 min to fully charge one.

It's definitely more than what I need for DIY, but better that than have it being a limiting factor.
Great impact. It definitely exceeds what I expected. I saw review after review. The only problem was the charger, but I'm guessing it might have gotten damaged during shipping. I went to home depot and they replaced it. Since I replaced that charger, I have not had a single issue. The batteries are excellent; they last a long time per charge. I have done two brake jobs, done a tire rotation, removed 3 a/c compressors ,and the battery still reads 4 bars. It's definitely more than what I need for DIY, but better that than have it being a limiting factor.

semi lug nuts
I purchased this impact wrench to unscrew nuts from my International Prostar 2009. I was planning to change 4 tandem tires. 3 tandems were torqued at Loves Truck stop, and one tandem was torqued at International dealer (prior to this) First 2 tandem tires went fast (1 hour). After this point the batteries(2) died. They took a long time to charge (around 1 hour each with truck charger). After that it was fully charged. It was just enough to remove 2-4 nuts. And I had to charge the battery again. I spent around 6 hours removing 24 nuts. And the last nut was impossible to unscrew (the one that was screwed in by the International dealer one month ago). I bought another tool to finish my job. Even I had a hard time using it. I like this tool, but the price should be cheaper. I returned it back to the store, and I am going to buy this tool back when the price is going to be lower.

I will never be without one again.
This is such a great product that my wife has no problem taking our thousand pound tires off our monster truck with it. And the built in light is a terrific addition. We do not always have good lighting when tearing down our trucks after shows. This is great!!!!

Milwaukee 1/2" impact wrench is awesome!
I was trying to find a good battery powered impact wrench and after extensive searching I found the Milwaukee Fuel 18V 1/2" drive. When it arrived at my door had to try it out, MAN was I impressed!! I put it up against a couple year old ingersoll rand air impact also a newer snap-on air and the milwaukee was tighter quicker every time hands down. This test was on 5/8" bolts with lock nuts, a task for any impact. The battery life is great too, fastened almost 100 of the said bolts and still had juice. Great tool you can leave the air at home with this one! The only downfall is its a bit on the heavy side but you might expect it with this powerful tool, also it has 2 modes; the first is basically a very slow speed for snugging bolts the second is full power.

Direction switch is too light.
The first time I used it, my upper palm switched to forward and almost blew a wheel stud off in 1-2 seconds! I have to keep a closer eye on it, but it would be nice if there were a lock! Almost returned it for that reason alone, the mechanism is very soft.

Cant work without it
This tool works great for water main service. Strong enough to tighten all bolts and make the job go quicker. The only issue I have is with the mose selection location. It contacts the bottom of my grip and forces the tool to change out of the high impact mode. Other than that it's perfect

friction ring
I love the awesome power and long lasting battery but i am tired of buying friction rings that hold the sockets on

No good
I got this for my home garage. Worked well first use, next time i tried it the light would flash but it didn't work. I sent it in for repair under warranty. What i got back was not my impact as it was all scuffed up and had no power. I contacted warrany service on this matter and sent it back in for repair a second time. I got the same impact back with no change. It will not even back off a lug nut at 130 ft lbs.
