I'll start by saying to all Milwaukee fans, this tool is good but it's not a Dewalt! Now before y'all start throwing chairs and tearing up the stadium, let me explain. I have a Dewalt DCF887 MAX XR 1/2" impact wrench with a Flexvolt battery. This combo works like a dream. Powerful and never gave me problems. However, this entire time, I've been hearing all these raving reviews about the Milwaukee 2767, people saying all these amazing things about it. The amount of Youtube reviews alone on this impact wrench are ridiculous! So naturally I wanted to see what the hype is all about. Got one and took it for a ride - here's what I discovered. With no load, the moment you pull the trigger, it feels powerful, you can feel the torque on your wrist. The tools wants to rip off your grip! The Dewalt doesn't do that, in fact, the Dewalt has a less "aggressive" motor spin and less noise as well. I put the Milwaukee to the test on my Volvo S60 lug nuts torqued to about 120 ft./lbs. Mode# 1 in reverse on the Milwaukee didn't do a thing, but I knew that and just wanted to see how this tool performance in all modes. Mode# 2 in reverse, to my surprise, didn't do much either. This was disappointing because mode# 2 on my Dewalt the lug nuts came off with ease. As a matter of fact, I never used mode# 3 on the Dewalt for any job on my car. I worked on brake jobs, struts assembly, control arms, tie rods, crank shafts, ball joints, etc, etc., you name it, and majority of the time I never had to go above mode# 2 on the Dewalt. So when the Milwaukee couldn't bust loose a lug nut torqued at about 120 ft./lbs on mode# 2, I was shaking my head in disappointment. Moving on to mode# 3 on the Milwaukee - and finally yes, this mode is the most powerful and it took at all the lug nuts without any effort. Here's my theory: Modes 1, 2, and 3 on the Dewalt is definitely more gradual and steps up in increments. It has better control on the amount of torque and power on each of the modes. Having said that, I feel Milwaukee's power output is a little imbalanced. Mode 2 is definitely not twice more power/torque than mode 1, but then it suddenly jumps to full power/torque on mode 3. In other words, the power/torque output on the Milwaukee is not consistent and doesn't increase incrementally like the Dewalt. If mode 1 is at say 100%, you would expect mode 2 to be at around at least 200%, and mode 3 would be at the range of 400% full force. This is not the case with the Milwaukee, where mode 2 is more like 150% but then mode 3 is crazy max full throttle. This is real work testing, not what's printed on paper. People tend to just repeat what's on paper but in real world application, things are different. Overall, I think the Milwaukee is still a good tool, it's ruggedly built and has a strong reputation amongst mechanics. If you keep it on mode 3 or the auto mode, you probably won't notice this subtle power output inconsistency in mode 2, and I suspect most users don't even use mode 2 so they rave about mode 3's awesome power. And yes, mode 3 has awesome power. So that's why I said this isn't a Dewalt. Now you can throw chairs and tear up the stadium :-)

I removed 40 class 8 truck lug nuts today (just to see if it could do it) That's 4 sets of tries. It hardly worked to remove them. The battery was at full charge, it dropped to 1/2 charge and went back up to 3/4 charge after resting a few minutes. (Surface charge came up) I have put off going cordless for quie a few years. I have always been loyal to pneumatic tools!! Battery technology has far surpassed pneumatic tools!!!!!! IMHO

I just ordered a new one with protective sleeve and grinder to go with my arsenal! Milwaukee makes the best tools hands down. ill never go back to DeWont

I recently upgraded my older 1/2" Milwaukee impact with this latest offering and I'm glad I did. I'm an RV Service Technician and I'm wrenching on campers all day long. Cords and hoses are annoying and I like to be free to move about. Often times, I have to go on service calls or work outside of my shop bay. This impact does not disappoint. Of all the Milwaukee tools I own, this one gets borrowed the most. I've only had this new one for a short while, but just like my older one, I've yet to find a nut I can't bust loose. This thing even puts most of the pneumatic impacts in the shop to shame. In the field, it would be cumbersome to drag along an air compressor and hoses to work on campers, and that's why I own this. I also off road in my Jeep, and I do not leave this tool at home. I especially like the updated design with four options instead of two, like on my older one. This thing is a beast, and well worth the money. Even if you don't work in a shop or use it every day, it's great to have at home when working on your vehicle or traveling.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Such a beast I was eyeing this toy down for a few days and I was able to get the wife to approve. First off I am an avid DIY on my cars and home and an electrician by trade. I have used milwaukee tools while working and have always been impressed. I bought the bare tool due to me already owing batteries ans a charger. I got home with it and realized the tool inside the box wasnt right. It was the completely wrong tool. It was an impact wrench but a lower end model number. Make sure you check this out. Home depot let me switch it out no problem but it was very odd as the tool was locked up when i bought it. After i exchanged the wrong tool i was able to get my hands on the right one. This thing is a beast. Option #3 is my fav. It removes torqued bolts and once they release it slows down, a good option to use on stuck bolts. This thing is huge but thats ok. If im getting this thing out its not going to be for tight spaces. I watched a youtube video of this tool and it does show it Actually removing 1400 foot pound bolt.

Working on cars is completely different with one of these. No clunky grease coated air hoses, not nasty exhaust wind in your face or kicking up brake dust. And easily more powerful than most pneumatics. I've used this thing on thousands of lugs, cranks, and pinions. It spins just about anything off like it was barely ever tightened. The low torque setting is pretty useless, at least it was on the early fuel model ( the impacts that only had 1 and 2, 100ft lbs and max). The lower torque always felt more like 10ft lbs, barely spinning anything on at about 1/10th the speed of max. But lets be honest, you don't need the lower setting anyways. It's still an awesome tool.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed Have a grip of Milwaukee tools and I was really let down by this high torque impact. Everyone says it’ll take off crank bolts and truck lug nuts. Having the mid torque I was impressed and I was hoping this gun would allow me to do away with my air impact but unfortunately the power just isn’t there. For normal lug nuts on light duty truck it’ll do the job but don’t expect it to take off a crank bolt on a Saturn vue and definitely don’t expect it to take off a crank bolt on a Honda Civic.
