A 15 gauge nail would be thicker than 16 gauge nail. Better? That would depend on YOUR preference for YOUR application.

Use a Brad Nail Gun for delicate work. The Finish Nailer leaves an impression that is not visually appealing.

Works great when it does
Bought this nailed to install baseboards to make the process simple. But sometimes it’s frustrating because somehow it jams and nails get stuck bent and I gotta take it apart every time.

Great product!

This finish nailer is awesome. I absolutely love it. No hoses, no cords, no waiting for the compressor to build up pressure. It does a terrific job at driving the nail in as far as you set it. Using this to build a club house for my kids and it has been a great tool to have in my arsenal.

I used this nailer to hang prefinished, pre-hung doors in my basement and it made life simple. No need to hook up the compressor and hose. Great adjustability for depth. Shoots very consistently.

Milwaukee is definitely the way to go

This nailer is a dream tool. And 15 Gauge.. can’t go wrong. It has changed my perspective of power tools. I am used to extension cords, hoses, and compressors. It saves me the time I would take loading items on my truck and a backache. It made my job installing custom wood siding more productive.

no good, cheap, heavy, bad
I am a huge milwaukee fan. I use both m12 and m18 tools. I was very excited to buy this nailer for tongue and groove ceiling installation. Shot about 10 nails, then the gun misfired and shot a nail thru the front sleeve. ( see photos). Cleared the jam, started again, went through about 25 nails, did the same thing. Returned the gun and got my money back. The last thing I need is one of my guys hurt or to waste time clearing misfires. I also fully expected interchangeable tips, especially for 45 degree shooting, and at the very least, a soft case. We did the job with $135 pneumatic guns. No jams, no misfires, cheaper.

Throw away your compressor...
Customer review from milwaukeetool.com logo
The M18 Fuel 15 gauge finish nailer is just as good or better than my pneumatics. Better actually, because I don't have to trip over my hose. Last week I installed 100 sheets of 3/4" marine grade plywood coated with epoxy paint shooting 2-1/2" 15 gauge nails and I went through one 5.0 XC battery a day. I didn't have any problems with shiners or penetration and my co-workers who used it were blown away. Today I made a custom door fastened with inch and a quarter 15 gauge nails. I own the M18 Fuel - 18 gauge finish nailer too, and it is just as good. I look forward to Milwaukee's release of their framing nailer and then I will finally be rid of my compressor.

Although I gave this tool five stars and rated it excellent, the first one did not work at all. I have a bunch of other Milwaukee tools and never had that happen so I'll overlook it this time. I took it to the local Home Depot store and the nice lady there exchanged it for another one that has worked very well since then with not a moment of trouble. No jams at all. It doesn't seem to care what brand the nails are, or what size they are, (within the sizes specified in the manual) all work equally well. The adjustment to set the depth of the nail head worked easily for me, no complaints there. It does vary a bit with the length of the nail which is to be expected - a longer nail has more friction going in than a short nail and therefore requires more force. Some reviewers complained that it was hard to place the nails exactly where you wanted them. While it does have moulded-in lines that when intersected do place the nails, they are hard to see because they are the same dark color as the nose piece. I painted the lines with an artist's brush with white Sherwin-Williams Exterior acrylic latex paint (sorry, Behr) and this helps a great deal in alignment. See the photos.
