Do not buy.. waste of time and money
Bought two of these within a week of each other at separate stores. Both of them were damaged from the factory. The metal plate that the compressor and regulator are mounted to were extremely bent. Called Milwaukee tools to see if this was common as both units I purchased had the same issue. Their technical support told me I should buy a lottery ticket and basically there was nothing to be done. So poor customer service on top of poor quality control.

Leaking air after only being used 4 times
I got tired of replacing cheap so thought I would go American and go expensive this almost $400 charger, $79, and battery $135 Well already were there air supposed to come out if too much pressure buildup is staying constantly open . So it’s running down my battery and never filling up to get pressure I’m so disappointing . Maybe they will be like the people I got my $300 faucet from by it for looks buy it for life and fix this who knows just mad.

This thing saves me a lot of money, I used to run my air compressor off of an inverter, this is way more useful. Friends are also impressed.

                      M18 Air Compressor
Lightweight, compact and QUIET !! Would not recommend for crown staples on underlayment or roofing, but for trim, base and interior doors this machine rocks !! Have 6ah batts, but as with any cordless tool, the bigger the batts, the longer it will run.

A bit heavy but it’s perfect for Air brushing when I do window art; where there is no access to any outlets. I also love that fact I can air the tires on my car with no problem and no cords. It’s much quieter than my other compressors.

15 years ago, this would be science fiction
A battery powered compressor that's light weight and quiet is exactly what finish carpenters have dreamed of for years, and this compressor delivers. A few people complain about capacity and battery life, but I guarantee they are used to over working their corded compressors and with a finite amount of energy per battery, they're suddenly having to come to grips with that. It's not meant to be unlimited shop air, but as for what it is meant to do, it's fantastic. From trim work to airing up tires out in the wilderness, it does it well.

Milwaukee hits it out of the park
What can i say that hasn't already been said. A cordless compressor is not something i had intended to buy for my Milwaukee line of power equipment, but this little jewel is going to save me a lot of time. I do a lot of interior finish carpentry and the one thing i never enjoy is finding power on site, or the look on a customers face when i fire up my pancake air supply in a home. This compressor is very quiet, and has a humble sound of it's own. There is a video done by someone who demonstrates that the air pressure control won't turn when the compressor is pressurized. Milwaukee must have fixed this as mine turns easily (there is resistance as expected) and i do not need to release all the pressure. Comes up to full pressure just as quickly as expected. The 2 gallon tank holds enough air to do a quick blow off should you need it, and i can see where it will inflate tires if needed. I asked one of the questions on this unit in regards to whether or not i could use an airbrush. Replies from users were great, but i think Milwaukee should post real life suggestions instead of the generic answer they gave. Milwaukee if you are listening, this compressor can indeed provide the airbrush user the painting tasks as needed. I tried it last nite with the Iwata brush pictured along with an external air pressure/water trap and it worked perfectly. I'm very happy i bought this one.

Great functionality, portability, quality and utility.
Having used this compressor with a Bostitch SB 2-in-1 18ga finish nailer/stapler on some repair projects at about 95 PSI, I found the compressor to get up to pressure and operate through about a strip and a half of 3/4 inch staples before cycling back on again for about two minutes. One thing I haven't seen mentioned on any reviews is that Milwaukee missed placing rubber feet below the carrying handle side of the frame. So, when carrying the compressor by the installed carry handle, to set it down, it sits directly on the painted steel frame. I put some protective grip tape on the contact points when it is set down on the ground to prevent damage to the steel frame/roll-cage. While this is a minor "miss" on the designers' part, it was not enough to knock off a star on this awesome tool for those of us who still love our "air-powered" nailers and other pneumatic tools. If Milwaukee adds these protective "feet" on the set-down side of the frame, many users will have less issues with paint scraping off and subsequent corrosion on the very important roll cage (especially in coastal areas where marine air and metal corrosion can become an issue more quickly than in more arid or dry climates). Thanks for reading and thank you to Milwaukee for this great addition to the M18 line!

This is another excellent Milwaukee tool using the M18 battery system. The compressor is well built with a sturdy carry handle and roll cage. It is not light but lighter than most portable air compressors (around 30 pounds). It is pretty quiet and is easy to operate. From a safety standpoint, I was a little concerned about the location of the pressure relief valve. It is easy to access, but if you are not careful, you could bleed the air off in your face. I like the fact that you can regulate the air pressure for various applications. It would be nice if a basic air hose with appropriate connectors could be included with the generator to make a "ready to go out of the box" kit.

I intended to use this mainly to run small nailers and to air up tires when I had flats that were too far from my shop to run an air hose. It works just fine for that. What I found out is that it will actually run my big impact wrench for removing lug nuts and my spray gun. Both of these tools do use a lot more air than the compressor can supply but as long as you are patient it works great. I had a chance to use it on my wife's car when she had a flat several miles from home. Since the pressure maxes out at 135 psi it can be used for a lot more than I had anticipated. It is very well balanced and easy to carry. I think my new compressor is going to be one my most useful tools. I have a gasoline powered portable unit but moving it around for small jobs is more trouble than it is worth.
