Q:What battery will perform best 8.0 or 12.0? Or are they the same?

Answer This Question

A:  Of course they’re not the same I use a 5 in mine it’s easier to carry for filling tires however any tool that requires hi cfm or continuous pressure spray paint, air chisel etc that’s when you’ll need a larger battery depending on the job I started switching to Milwaukee so I have an assortment of batteries to choose from and they don’t disappoint this tool is not an exception great to have for small jobs much quieter than my large compressor or any smaller ones I’ve used

by|Jan 31, 2023

A:  The 12.0 will perform better

Q:Would this compressor be enough to use a blow gun for blowing off brake calipers, engine bays, car interiors or would it struggle to keep up? This is my primary need for getting an air compressor.

      Answer This Question

A:  I use it for car parts all the time and it works great. Not sure that it would have the capacity to do and entire interior. Does recharge pretty fast, so it might be OK.

      by|Jan 16, 2023

        A:  Struggle to keep up.

        by|Jan 17, 2023

A:  It will work OK for short bursts used but not continuous use since this type of use takes a lot of air. If you’re a professional, this will absolutely not work. It needs time to recharge between use. For me, it does work. I just like that it’s quiet more than anything else. Cordless helps too.

          by|Jan 13, 2023

A:  The short answer is no. The long answer is also no. This is a good compressor for small nailers and portability. At 1.2scfm there is not enough output for the jobs you described. At least not for any extended period more than a few seconds. The tank is too small and battery life is not long under heavy use either. You should find a way to estimate how much flow you need. For instance Home Depot offers a 20ga vertical compressor with 4scfm output for less money.

            by|Jan 17, 2023

A:  I personally do not think this would do what you want it to do. It would be constantly running and would run through any battery you put in it. I’m a Milwaukee guy so I’m sad to leave this as the answer.

                Answer This Question

A:  Absolutely will be good for blowing yourself off using a hose and a blow gun.

                by|Jan 13, 2023

A:  Yes, it can easily handle that.   You can adjust the pressure to the appropriate level you want.   I've bought two of these now because I liked the first one so much.

                  by|Jan 24, 2023

A:  It'd work.... It's only a 2 gallon tank though. If you're really dusty it'll have to fill up a couple times.

                    by|Jan 12, 2023

                      A:  Yes .

                      by|Jan 12, 2023

A:  Yeah, More than enough CFM & PSI for the task.

                          Dependable and Enduring
After the first charge subsequent charges seem a bit quicker even when the battery is completely empty. This is a big battery pack runs for a long time. It's hard to give a definitive time because different tools use different power.

This thing saves me a lot of money, I used to run my air compressor off of an inverter, this is way more useful. Friends are also impressed.

Lightweight, compact and QUIET !! Would not recommend for crown staples on underlayment or roofing, but for trim, base and interior doors this machine rocks !! Have 6ah batts, but as with any cordless tool, the bigger the batts, the longer it will run.

A bit heavy but it’s perfect for Air brushing when I do window art; where there is no access to any outlets. I also love that fact I can air the tires on my car with no problem and no cords. It’s much quieter than my other compressors.

15 years ago, this would be science fiction
A battery powered compressor that's light weight and quiet is exactly what finish carpenters have dreamed of for years, and this compressor delivers. A few people complain about capacity and battery life, but I guarantee they are used to over working their corded compressors and with a finite amount of energy per battery, they're suddenly having to come to grips with that. It's not meant to be unlimited shop air, but as for what it is meant to do, it's fantastic. From trim work to airing up tires out in the wilderness, it does it well.

Milwaukee hits it out of the park
What can i say that hasn't already been said. A cordless compressor is not something i had intended to buy for my Milwaukee line of power equipment, but this little jewel is going to save me a lot of time. I do a lot of interior finish carpentry and the one thing i never enjoy is finding power on site, or the look on a customers face when i fire up my pancake air supply in a home. This compressor is very quiet, and has a humble sound of it's own. There is a video done by someone who demonstrates that the air pressure control won't turn when the compressor is pressurized. Milwaukee must have fixed this as mine turns easily (there is resistance as expected) and i do not need to release all the pressure. Comes up to full pressure just as quickly as expected. The 2 gallon tank holds enough air to do a quick blow off should you need it, and i can see where it will inflate tires if needed. I asked one of the questions on this unit in regards to whether or not i could use an airbrush. Replies from users were great, but i think Milwaukee should post real life suggestions instead of the generic answer they gave. Milwaukee if you are listening, this compressor can indeed provide the airbrush user the painting tasks as needed. I tried it last nite with the Iwata brush pictured along with an external air pressure/water trap and it worked perfectly. I'm very happy i bought this one.

Great functionality, portability, quality and utility.
Having used this compressor with a Bostitch SB 2-in-1 18ga finish nailer/stapler on some repair projects at about 95 PSI, I found the compressor to get up to pressure and operate through about a strip and a half of 3/4 inch staples before cycling back on again for about two minutes. One thing I haven't seen mentioned on any reviews is that Milwaukee missed placing rubber feet below the carrying handle side of the frame. So, when carrying the compressor by the installed carry handle, to set it down, it sits directly on the painted steel frame. I put some protective grip tape on the contact points when it is set down on the ground to prevent damage to the steel frame/roll-cage. While this is a minor "miss" on the designers' part, it was not enough to knock off a star on this awesome tool for those of us who still love our "air-powered" nailers and other pneumatic tools. If Milwaukee adds these protective "feet" on the set-down side of the frame, many users will have less issues with paint scraping off and subsequent corrosion on the very important roll cage (especially in coastal areas where marine air and metal corrosion can become an issue more quickly than in more arid or dry climates). Thanks for reading and thank you to Milwaukee for this great addition to the M18 line!

This is another excellent Milwaukee tool using the M18 battery system. The compressor is well built with a sturdy carry handle and roll cage. It is not light but lighter than most portable air compressors (around 30 pounds). It is pretty quiet and is easy to operate. From a safety standpoint, I was a little concerned about the location of the pressure relief valve. It is easy to access, but if you are not careful, you could bleed the air off in your face. I like the fact that you can regulate the air pressure for various applications. It would be nice if a basic air hose with appropriate connectors could be included with the generator to make a "ready to go out of the box" kit.

I intended to use this mainly to run small nailers and to air up tires when I had flats that were too far from my shop to run an air hose. It works just fine for that. What I found out is that it will actually run my big impact wrench for removing lug nuts and my spray gun. Both of these tools do use a lot more air than the compressor can supply but as long as you are patient it works great. I had a chance to use it on my wife's car when she had a flat several miles from home. Since the pressure maxes out at 135 psi it can be used for a lot more than I had anticipated. It is very well balanced and easy to carry. I think my new compressor is going to be one my most useful tools. I have a gasoline powered portable unit but moving it around for small jobs is more trouble than it is worth.

CORDLESS; LIGHTER WEIGHT; EASY to USE; WORKS with FINISH NAILER — The Milwaukee M18 FUEL 18-Volt Lithium-Ion Brushless Cordless 2 Gal. Electric Compact Quiet Compressor (Tool-Only) has many things to like about it. Even though it is not lightweight, its 31.2 lbs. are much less than my corded pancake compressor’s 55 lbs. That feature plus it being cordless allows me to move it to where I need it. It has a better design than my pancake compressor, e.g., the pressure relief valve is easy to access. Also, since it is only 2 gal. rather than 5 gal, it gets to the desired pressure more quickly. The design of the controls makes it easy to use. It is obviously quieter but not quiet. I like the compact design. The filter and plastic muffler tube need to be installed before using. The instructions say to attach the hose and tool before starting the compressor whereas the pancake compressor says to attach the hose, bring it up to pressure, and then attach the tool. I was very pleased with how it preformed with my finish nailer, actually better than my pancake compressor. It should satisfy all of my compressor needs. It has a 3-year warranty. It is made in Mexico (not China).
