The Milwaukee M18 FUEL 18 Volt Brushless Cordless 4 1/2 - 5 in Angle Grinder with paddle switch was a great upgrade from my non-FUEL Milwaukee 4 1/2 - 5 in. Angle Grinder. I have been using the brushed version for the past year and a half but felt I needed more power and runtime. The FUEL version stepped up to the plate. Has been instrumental in stripping paint/rust/scale from a few metal restoration projects that I have been working on. The added power and extended run time using High Output 6amp batteries has saved me a great amount of time. The paddle switch is easy to use after a short learning curve if you haven't used one before. Definitely recommend.

Extended Runtime for Power Intensive Milwaukee Tools
I have a lot of Milwaukee Cordless Tools and have anxiously awaited the arrival of the new XC5.0 Red Lithium Battery. It produces 20% more runtime than the XC4.0 Battery, yet is the same size and about the same weight. The XC5.0 Lithium Battery is ideal for contractors using power intensive cordless tools such as circular saws, sawzalls and hammer drills. After using the new XC5.0 Battery for several weeks, I am very impressed with its performance.
The only minor negative is it takes over an hour to charge a depleted battery to full capacity. Highly recommended for all contractors or do-it-yourself users using compatible power intensive Milwaukee Cordless Tools.

Longer runtime
I wanted a second battery for my M18 Hole Hawg 1/2 in. Right Angle Drill which shipped with a 4Ah battery. While checking Home Depot's website I noticed that the 4Ah and 5Ah were currently the same price and appear to be the same size and weight. That seems strange to me but who am I to argue… I'll take the 5Ah. It arrived partially charged so I juiced it up to full power. The blister pack is nearly impossible to open. I don't notice any increase in power but there is a noticeable increase in runtime. If you need to replace a dead battery, or just want a backup, this 5Ah seems like the natural choice.
