kind of a dumb question but would it work with a 7/16 magnetic head 1/4” bit I do garage doors and would love a faster way to do hinge screws

No I would not use it for that. This is a drywall screwgun not for torque clutch is made fir sinking drywall screws into drywall I use one everyday for my drywall business. For garages I would get the Milwaukee impact gun with a 1/4 inch adapter. I have one of those also and works great for what you’ll be using it for

Yes, i prefer the older style Vermon American. I get lon lofe a a better grip with these. I also tape my nose cone on after I set my depth, so I don't inadvertantly screw it up.

Not this particular box. It says "tool only." Search for this item and select the one that has the battery. I own this gun and end up using my M12 drill instead. Not worth it in my opinion.

May be able to but it is very fast and no speed control. Best tool for the job is 1/4 inch impact gun, Dewalt is much better impact control than the Milwaukee impact for some reason. Demo them before you buy to see for your self!

Purchased this tool and used it to install an entire garage worth of drywall in 1 day. The cordless option is ideal for me as I work alone and will never trip over the cord again. I bought a dewalt corded drywall tool that lasted 1 day after 2 foot drop and it died. Very happy with this purchase.

I got this kit for clearance price of $189 at my local Home Depot. Worth every nickel. Well built tool of high quality materials and excellent fit and finish. Very lightweight and easy to handle. Sinks the screws perfectly every time after adjusting the initial depth of drive, which was simple. I'm just a handy man not a pro drywaller or contractor and man did this make hanging drywall a ton easier. Made me look like a pro and felt like one too!

Great drill for hanging several sheets of drywall! I got an amazing deal due to the display being the last one and they couldn't find the other battery charger or bag. The auto start feature is awesome. I'm looking forward to trying this gun with the collated screw attachment.

I actually this from Home Depot recently and have had some time to use it on a few of my jobs. I already own the DeWalt cordless screwgun which is a great tool and I’m glad to own it and use it. This Milwaukee is even better and I’m even more happy to own and use it. The Milwaukee’s auto start feature is probably the single most defining difference that makes me prefer the Milwaukee screwgun. I don’t own the collated attachment for the Milwaukee but I do own one for the DeWalt and I have no complaints at all about it or it’s performance. I do think the DeWalt nose cone is more well constructed with it’s bayonet style mounting attachment that locks on to the tool. The Milwaukee nose cone is held in place with ball detention but seems to have a more fine depth adjustment. Overall the milwaukee is larger, and heavier than the DeWalt and it doesn’t quite feel as good in my hand but still feels good to hold for extended use. Where it really shines for me is the torque, really high rpm, very quiet operation, auto start (silent between driving), immediate spin up while driving feels just as fast as a constant spinning motor to me and the fine depth adjustments work great. I get about 10 decibels lower fo a reading with he Milwaukee than the dewalt. I’m happy to sacrifice a little size and weight for all of that. I mostly use this one for setting wood screws rather than drywall application but am looking forward to using it for my next drywall project with the silent on and auto start feature. The slightly longer length is not a problem for me since it makes it easier for me to judge the angle of the gun against the work surface and get a more perpendicular drive into the surface. I mostly use the gun with torx drive screws and it works well. I just used it to drive #8 x 1-1/4” (4.0 x 30mm) wood screws into phenolic resin glued exterior grade A-C-X plywood in order to fasten a double layer of the material together. I drove 964 fasteners into the plywood, then in a single day, removed them and transported the project for a performance where we re-installed and de-installed it again. It seemed to take the gun about :45 minutes for each part of the screwing process and would use 2 out of the 4 bars on the battery gauge lights regardless of whether I was removing or installing fasteners. It’s lightning fast and had no problem setting screws consistently in the dense plywood. This is one of My first M-18 tools and am happy with the battery platform. I own almost every major 18v and 12v platform and have Bosch as my personal favorite. The M18/M12 charger is fast and can charge both 18 and 12 voltage batteries. The tool comes with a well constructed Milwaukee fuel bag as well. The belt clip was already attached to the tool from factory for a right handed user but can easily be moved to the other side with a t-15 torx driver. I hope this review is helpful.

I own a fencing company and don’t like using nails so we use screws to put pickets on. This cut out time in a quarter of the time with the attachment they sell for these that self feed screws. I’ve got another one on order so we should be flying through them now. Built a couple hundred feet so far and haven’t had any issue out it.

Outstanding product
The Milwaukee M18 FUEL 18-Volt Lithium-Ion Brushless Cordless Drywall Screw Gun Compact Kit (2866-22CT) comes with the screw gun, two Red Lithium batteries, a charger, belt clip, PR2 bit and a durable bag. The ramp off sleeve is adjustable allowing precision control of screw depth. The selectable auto start mode allows one to leave the trigger locked on with no turning of the bit/motor until pressure is applied between the screw gun and the drywall. This also extends the battery life allowing one to drive more screws per battery (estimated at 25-27 sheets of drywall). You can move up to the XC Extended Capacity batteries (or by the other kit than comes with them) for up to 64 sheets per battery. I found the 4500 RPM brushless motor allowed the tool to quickly and easily drive drywall screws into drywall and the 2 x 4s behind it. Depth of screws with the ramp off sleeve was consistent. The tool is 3 to 4 pounds, feels good in the hand and is well balanced. The stated warranty is 5 years.

FAST and EFFICIENT tool to run fillips screws!!!
Before having this tool, our drill was the "go-to" tool for driving screws. This 18 volt screw gun is designed for that exact purpose. We have used it already to drive sheet rock screws and some 2 inch screws (no problem at all). The front adjusts to expose the fillip head out of in-line with the surface, so one can adjust the depth of screw driven into wood, etc. Direction change from clock- to counter-clock-wise. Comes with two batteries, so there is no slow down in working. Charge is quick - about 25 minutes. LED is bright and the area where screw goes is well-lit. A handy bag is appreciated - tough and durable. HIGHLY RECOMMEND for pros and DIY!
