Slower than 2 year used and abused standard m18
The m18 fuel surge is definitely quieter than most impacts but it’s seriously down on power , I bought it to replace a standard m18 that’s lost power over time from daily sheet metal work and heavy hits like dropping off a scissor lift and is on its last legs , I compared the two and the surge is about a second slower with 5/16 screws and definitely has less power,if you’re looking for something slow, useless in some cases, but quiet and comfortable then it’s for you

          Can’t sink timberlocks
I’ve been a carpenter for 18 years and I’ve had Milwaukee tools for the last 8 years or so. I love all my Milwaukee tools and recommend them all. With the exception of this one depending on your needs. This drill is smooth and quiet but not powerful as every other brand on my jobsite. It’s actually embarrassing having to borrow other guys impacts to finish sinking timberlocks which are very common on my site. Please improve this model Milwaukee

            Putting it through the paces
In 4 days of work since purchase, this drill has drilled over 400 holes in masonry for furring install using 3/16" tapcons. Granted, a small diameter masonry bit (5/32), but still a good test on extremely hard, 60 plus year old concrete block.

Not what they used to be
I upgraded my hex driver to the newer M18 Fuel model, but it stopped changing direction after a few weeks. Tool rep acknowledged the issue is common, only offered a warranty repair number with a month-long backlog. This decline in quality control is concerning. It feels like they [Milwaukee] is passing on the responsibility of fixing their production process to their customers by asking them to work with the warranty department. I recommend exploring other options before committing to this tool.

Best small Impact Driver out there.
I have 5 different Milwaukee M-18 drivers and two M12 impact drivers. I got this one late last year and it has quickly become my favorite. I like it best because it is shorter than the old model, allowing you to get access where the other one would not always fit. It also has more torque than the old model, and what really tops it off are the multiple speeds. I prefer it with the low profile 3.0 HO Battery, but I have never managed to drain a 2.0 LP battery in a single day.

Ive owned a few of these but the last two were bad
The have worked well for me. However the last two messed up within the first use. The spring pops out of the socket and the bits no longer stay in the drill. Going to return the second one now. Didnt last one day

                    Super hammer drill/driver
I am very impressed with the 1/2 inch hammer drill / driver from Milwaukee. This tool handles very well, is quite powerful and reliable on the job site. I have used this for a variety of applications and all types of weather conditions (snow, rain, heat, etc.) and this tool is definitely one beast of burden. The tool is easy to clean and maintain. It works on the m18 battery, has two speeds, and can alternate between drilling, fastening and hammer drilling functions for a variety of uses.

Really happy with this drill driver so far. It's an M18 so there's plenty of power and the batteries last longer. I tested it out drilling and driving screws into sheetrock as well as drilling into concrete. It worked flawlessly. When driving screws, the clutch has the ability to slip so that I don't drive the screw too deep or damage the screw head by overtorque. Having the attachable handle helps with tough jobs like concrete hammer drilling. The LED light is at the bottom so my hands don't block the light while I'm working. After giving the manual a quick read, utilizing the various settings was easy. I'll be using this tool for many a tough job to come. Another great item from Milwaukee!

                      Another Great Product by Milwaukee!
This Milwaukee M18 FUEL 1/2 inch Hammer Drill Driver runs on the Milwaukee 18v lithium ion M18 platform. This Drill driver works fantastic. It feels smoother that my older drill driver. I like the fact that you get that handle that gives you great leverage when you need it. It comes with 2 batteries and a charger also. The grip is very comfortable, you won't get fatigued when using this hammer drill driver.

This is a powerful, full-featured and compact 1/2-inch drill/driver tool kit
This review is for the new Milwaukee Cat. No. 2904-22, 1/2-inch Hammer Drill/Driver Kit. This kit includes the drill/driver with removable side handle, two 5 Ahr REDLITHIUM batteries, battery charger, tough plastic carrying case and operators manuals. This new drill driver is quite compact at only 7 inches front-to-back and 10 inches high, including installed battery. It weighs a relatively light 4 pounds, 13-1/2 ounces with a supplied battery installed. It has an all metal chuck. This drill/driver has an LED light that illuminates the work area from near the base of the handle when the motor is activated. I have a similar Milwaukee 1/2-inch hammer drill/driver kit, Cat. 2704-20. Welcome changes for this new tool vs. my older Milwaukee 2704 include the much improved illumination, lighter weight and more compact size, front-to-back. The new LED light mount location is better and the light color whiter than the older tool that has the a less effective blue color. This new model has an enhanced safety feature provided by the AUTOSTOP control. What this feature does is to stop the tool from excessive rotation in either direction if a cutting tool like a hole saw suddenly jambs during use, not uncommon when cutting large holes with a hole saw or with a large diameter spade bit. If this interlock is activated, an indicator light near the base of the handle flashes. I like this feature a lot as I have had instances of a jamb that caused wrist sprain, What really surprised me is the high power and torque of this relatively compact drill/driver. The tool arrived with batteries having an estimated 40% charge. It took about 1-1/2 hours to charge each of them fully. I have used this kit so far for cutting 2-1/8-inch diameter holes in hardwood doors to mount hardware, for hammer drilling 3/8-inch diameter 3-inch deep holes in a poured concrete wall to mount a hose reel and for hole-sawing 3-inch diameter holes in fir floor joists to install a plumbing pipe. It worked flawlessly for each of these projects. The tool and the charger have a five-year limited warranty. This tool kit is a high quality, much-appreciated addition to my handyman-inspired tool collection. I expect to reach for it often.
