NOT VERY GOOD FOR WHAT IT COSTS
WAS VERY EXCITED ABOUT THE PRODUCT WHEN I ORDERED IT. FIRST OFF FOR THE PRICE IT SHOULD HAVE MORE THAN JUST ONE OUTLET AND MAYBE A USB AND USB C CHARGE PORT. ALSO BATTERY LIFE IS A JOKE. OVERALL NOT IMPRESSED SO I NOW HAVE A $2000 PAPER WEIGHT.

Good, but there's so much more potential
I'm a bit underwhelmed by this power station.  It can power a wide assortment of corded devices and does so reasonably well.  I've run the following with it: shop vac, floor fan, small 5 gal air compressor, M12/18 chargers, a 10" drill press, and even my home fridge (just for kicks).  No issues powering any of these items.  I did try a very old (20+ years) chop saw and it worked reasonably well, but it ran slightly sluggish for a second or two.  To fully stress this I tried running a portable A/C unit with a rated power draw of 8.0 amps.  Well, that didn't work out well.  The inverter trips up and the unit starts beeping as soon as the compressor kicks on.  Bummer.  I can't imagine the portable A/C exceeding the supposed 3600 watt peak of the inverter. As for the unit, it's nice that it takes MX batteries since they can be hot swapped as they run out.  The batteries charge up decently quick - I think it took over an hour to top one off from about 25%. Using the generator is simple - there's just one button on it.  Press it, wait a bit, then plug in your devices.  It stays on until powered down - I didn't have any issues with it shutting down when lower powered devices were hooked up (a problem with earlier models) Unfortunately at this price point, one expects more features, especially since this segment is rather competitive nowadays.  For example, it could benefit from a display that shows current power draw, estimated run time, or any useful metric. USB ports would be a great addition as well. There's no way to charge it using solar power, which would be great if you need to top it off at a remote locale or jobsite without electricity.  It's also rather hefty, especially with the batteries in place.  One other thing that perplexed me is that the outlets are upside down - not sure what prompted that design decision, but at first I thought I had the whole unit upside down!  And my last minor annoyance is that the fan is pretty loud. Pros?  It's well built with a rather sturdy metal frame, works well when powering devices that do not draw too many amps, and it has a nifty attachment point for an M12/18 battery (M12 chargers will not fit!). Overall, it's OK.  Future iterations of this product could benefit from some of the features mentioned above.

                Lots of lost opportunity
I give this three stars and a begrudging recommendation because it does what it advertises it can do. This is a beefy inverter in a rugged case. But there are several things that bug me about this inverter. Especially considering the price point, which should have all the basic options for what you are paying. There is no pass thru power or UPS function. If the unit is plugged into wall power to charge the batteries, the outlets are non functional. The cooling fan always runs full blast even without a load. Not sure how much power this uses, but it is some power. No display to show any functionality. All you have is a lighted power button, the OneKey light, and lights to show battery state of charge. I thought maybe you would be able to see more information about how much power is being used in the app, but no. The OneKey app is about worthless for this device. It has a pretty small amount of run time. The two six amp hour batteries are about 432 watt hours each, so any load near the capacity of the inverter will drain them in short order. The outlets are mounted upside down, so if you wanted to put a watt meter inline with the load, the display will be upside down. I will say that the power cord to charge the batteries is really really nice.

Lots of potential but has a few limitations
Great for lower power usage areas when a loud generator would not work. IE enclosed spaces or late eventings in a campground. It takes about 2.5 hours to charge. The batteries have about 750 watt hours of capacity. IE you can run a hairdryer for 30 minutes at 1500 watts. Limitations: -You can't plug this into the wall and and power something else at the same time. IE you can't use this as a backup power supply. -There are two batteries. It drains one and then drains the other. When it switches from one battery to the other, there is a power disconnect. Computers will reset. I received this item for free to write this review.

                Convenient, Portable, Clean Power Anywhere
This is perfect for areas where you have no power and the quiet operation of this unit is a big plus. I like the build of this power supply. The frame offers a lot of protection and the center handle makes it easy to carry. The lights on it make it easy to know the status with just a glance. Batteries are removed or easily put into place and they are securely held. The batteries can be removed and locked, so there is no accidental activation. One battery charges at a time and it takes this size battery about 90 minutes to charge. Supplied are two screws that can be used to attach a M12/M18 battery charger to the side with the already in place inserts. The first thing I tried was charging a M18 12ah battery and an M12. It fully charged the 12ah, all four lights to the solid green indicator, then it fully charged the M12. As long as you have something connected to it that is using the available power it stays on. It will shut down if nothing is drawing power from it. The previous auto-shutdown at the one hour point has been changed. It comes with a heavy-duty power cord for charging. It has the ONE-KEY which means you have control and all the available options that come with it. This is also great for picnics, sporting events, camping or use at home during a power outage. There are no fumes or loud noise and it's safe to use inside. It's nice to have if the power goes out. This opens up a whole lot of options for you.

Packs a lot of power in portable package.
I'm not gonna pretend to say that this thing will ever replace gas generators. For way less money you could get a generator that is just as portable and just as powerful and would run all day. However you would have the capabilities to do specific niche applications. Sometimes you are in a hazardous environment where you may not be allowed to run motorized equipment for fire safety reasons. Or are working in a confined space so oxygen consumption and or exhaust fume accumulation is a tangible threat. This is where something like this shines. Other large battery power supply units don't have nearly the surge capabilities for starting large motor loads like this can. Plus having swappable batteries means flexibility like changing batteries to increase run times between charges. or downsizing or using only one battery on smaller loads to save weight. Something that other single battery based cheaper units do not offer. Considering that this also has an active cooling fan internally, I would feel comfortable and confident running this power supply at maximum for long duration without causing issues. There is the problem of the batteries themselves being hard to find and very very expensive. Also each xc406 battery weighs 10 pounds 10 ounces. They are some big babies. However I was able to cut some concrete pavers with my 7 inch 15 amp grinder no problem with this power supply. My grinder briefly pulls 25.3 amps on start up. At 120 volts that is over 3000 watts. This power supply didn't miss a beat. most large single battery pack based power inverters would be able to handle those types of surge loads repeatedly. It won't replace gas generators any time soon but sometimes you need powerful corded tools where you can't use a generator.

                Wonderful product!
The primary use for Milwaukee MX FUEL Battery Powered Generator will be to power our car refrigerator when we go on trips. I have a couple of other battery powered inverters, but if we are away from the vehicle for more than about 4 hours the batteries die on the power inverters. The MX Fuel Generator should have the capacity to power the car refrigerator for 12 or more hours even on super-hot days. Since the MX FUEL is so quiet, it is perfect for tailgating or camping in areas where a combustion engine generator is prohibited. And it is so cool that this thing can be used indoors. The unit arrived with zero charge on the batteries; it took less than four hours to charge both batteries to 100%. This will not be a problem for powering my car refrigerator or tailgating because the batteries can be charged over-night and be ready for all-day use the next day. It is small and lightweight enough to easily carry from the vehicle to a hotel room or other area to charge. The power went out at our house for about 45 minutes last night. It was so convenient to use the Milwaukee Portable Power Station to power two lamps and a portable fan while waiting for the power to be restored. The Portable Power Station was so quiet that we could barely hear it once the portable fan was running. A few improvements that I recommend for future versions of this product are: provide more information on the unit and on the ONE-KEY App ((via Bluetooth) about power usage (wattage being used) and remaining battery life. And include a solar charger so that the unit can be charged by solar power when commercial power is not available.

                Great Portable Power Supply
About the only thing I don't like about this is the weight. The delivery guy left it out by the street, possibly for that reason. Without the packaging it is about 50 lbs. Not terrible but enough for sure with one hand. But it is managable. Assembly is minimal, bascially you just remove some safety pieces off the batteries and slide them in and then charge them. Charging took between 3 and 4 hours. This is intended as a way to power tools away from a 120V outlet which is how I am rating it. The cooling fan is only about 60 db but it is quite noticable inside. But if you were operating any power tool it would be easily drowned out. I am also thinking of this for power if my electricity goes out. So I plugged my refrigerator into it and ran it for an hour and a half. One battery went down one bar. Seems like it would easily handle that load overnight. It would be nice if it had a USB outlet but it doesn't. It would be nice if it was lighter but then it wouldn't have as much stored energy. So overall I think it's great.

                Milwaukee listened!
I purchased this and two additional batteries with a stand alone charger nearly as soon as they hit my local tool suppliers warehouse. Initially, I was let down. Imagine working in a 2 million dollar home with a fully finished basement, utility power disconnected upgrading electrical services in preparation of a standby generator installation to find out this originally had an auto shutdown feature and left the sump pump offline. I turned around to see rain water rising out of the floor drain, ran to the mechanical room and powered up as soon as possible to empty the sump pit and avoided a very large claim. Milwaukee made a running production change and eliminated the timer. The updated unit has been awesome. The one key connectivity is convenient and easy. The battery release and connection feels great. An ability to add locks at the batteries is a nice touch and may avoid quick thefts of opportunity. Fit, finish, and durability appears good. The power supply has made things much easier. No more looking for exterior plugs and running hundreds of feet of extension cords. No noise to interrupt a home owner. I don’t have to worry about dirty extension cords running across expensive carpet or pets escaping through unclosed doors. It has powered our threader and SDS Max without hesitation. Milwaukee’s attentiveness and outreach to correct my concerns have only solidified my choice to embrace their product. I’ve personally invested in all battery platforms and their storage solutions and will continue to be a loyal and happy customer!
