Great Jacket. Poor Zipper
I bought this Jacket 2 years ago to replace a well worn Carhartt Jacket that had served me well. I was very impressed with the fit and use of quality materials except the zipper. Like all the other reviews, the Zipper is the fail point. I lubricated the teeth every year with zipper lube too. Really disappointed. I love all my Milwaukee tools and clothing, but this just stinks. YKK zipper would have made this jacket perfect

When I ordered this jacket I was just looking for something a little less bulky than my outdoor work coat. It turns out to be very versatile as well as durable. The collar material is very comfortable when the collar is turned up. It is very warm without a lot of bulk because it is wind and water resistant, so the breezes stay out. The shoulder tops have toughened patches for guys like me who carry heavy things around on their shoulders and the rest of the material is heavy and snag resistant, actually much better than my duck coat. Comfort, durability, and style make it a triple threat and I have been wearing it for everyday, most of the time in fact, except when I need a dress coat. With the tough fabric and reinforced seams I expect it to last for many years. It even has an interior, zippered pocket that fits my smart phone great and keeps it warm, as well. Nicely done, Milwaukee!

This is one amazing work coat. I say "work" coat because it does have a heavy duty look and feel. It is extremely comfortable and fits perfect to size. I normally wear an XL with a little room to account for several layers of clothing, and this jacket makes the fit perfect!! The jacket is reinforced in different areas and has the outer portion made from the ripstop fabric for extra protection. The pockets have reinforced edges to protect against wear and tear. There are plenty of pockets and storage throughout the coat. The interior breast pocket has a slot for a cord to come through which is nice for working while wearing headphones. I am unsure of the clothing term, but the back is longer to cover your waist area which offers additional warmth when you are working while bending down. The cuffs have an elastic band on the inside of the outer shell that works perfect for working while wearing gloves. (the outer shell portion extends out longer than the elastic cuffs.) All around, this is a great jacket for wear and tear, along with exceptional warmth for a relatively lighter jacket. I am guessing that I will be able to work in single digit temps with no issues of staying warm with this coat. I would strongly recommend to anyone working in the elements!!!

MAKE
This jacket is very comfortable. It is warm, yet has vent areas (such as under the armpits) to prevent overheating. It is completely wind proof and water resistant, protecting you from the elements. The zipper & teeth are large; it will be easy to pull up or down while wearing gloves.
FIT
The jacket seems a bit loose/large in the front area, but the rest of the fit is spot on. The cuffs are cut back to the wrists, allowing uninhibited use of your hands, and that's vital to when you're working. Movement overall is nominal.
UTILITY
There are plenty of pockets on the front for a number of tools, along with a single internal pocket on the left breast. The external material seems extremely durable, almost tarp-like, and will no doubt handle wear and tear much better than a standard coat or windbreaker.
The one thing notably missing is any sort of elbow padding. There is no protection there, and if you bang your elbow while working, you're in for some pain.
SUMMARY
A very durable and well designed jacket for the outdoors. Lots of pockets, thick outer shell, and easy to use zipper mean this coat will endure some serious outdoor work. Decent fit, yet a bit loose in the chest area. Would have liked to see some sort of elbow pads or protection.

This plain black jacket is not bulky but seems to have adequate insulation. It is roomy in the right places to allow freedom of movement and not restrict. The pockets are big and functional and the zipper seems to be heavy enough. It is wind and water resistant and doesn't collect hay from the barn. The sizing seems correct and a regular large has enough sleeve length for a 6'1" guy. Matching bibs are also available.

This Milwaukee Gridiron jacket is of a very high quality. I recognize the features like the double stitching at seams and pockets and riveting at pocket stress points. That and the tough polyester fabric will outlast other work jackets.
There are lots of pockets. Four on the outside and one zippered inside. The lining is quilted for warmth and the inside of the collar is a corduroy type of fabric for comfort. There is an inner knit stretch cuff at the wrist to keep out the cold air and stretch panels built in for easy movement.
The jacket fits true to size. This one is size large in black. Black is the best color for soil not showing. There is no hood even though the product overview says hooded. The stand up collar will protect the neck. The jacket seems like it would be warm, but may need additional layers in very cold temperatures. As someone who has sewn just about every type of item, I can tell there was attention to every detail in making this one sturdy jacket.

Waiting for cold weather now.
I bought this since i have lost some weight to fit a gap in what i have for winter clithing. The fit is nice and craftsmanship appears to be be good. I haven't had to use the jacket yet since it i boughr during warner weather. I also did purchase a hooded zip up sweatshirt for layer. They will layer greatly from my testing. This is good item to buy and additional purchse of thr hooded sweatshirt for layering will be great.
