Are Milwaukee hand tools made in the USA

Asked by Dago December 26, 2020

Milwaukee is owned by a company headquartered in Hong Kong, but the tools are made in either Wisconsin or Mississippi. The quality can't be beat and I am steadily replacing my Craftsman tools with Milwaukee.

Why are these alway significantly more expensive that the same metric wrenches by Milwaukee?

Seems so. usually the metric and sae bundle is the cheapest route.

Answer

RustyBolt, together the set will not fit in the PACKOUT™ Low-Profile Organizer(48-22-8431) Due to the fact this organizer is 19.76" long and the set together is around 22" long.

Has anyone tried fitting both SAE and Metric trays in a slim packout organizer without trimming the trays ?

Asked by ElGordoLobo May 2, 2020

Answer

They sell different sized slim packout organizers. The best thing to do is go to your local Home Depot store & see what they have. The employees at Home Depot are very helpful.

Where are they manufactured?

Great Set of wrenches
I use these bad boys everyday at work. The arch swing cuts my work load and they look great in my box!

Quality Control is an issue.
Poor quality control. There are tooling marks all over the wrenches and an obvious defect in the 22mm.

Do the people who Design these, actually use them?
Very nitpicky issue but the rack they come with is designed to hang horizontally. All the size markings are vertically oriented. The markings on the wrenches are vertical, no problem but the rack should be labelled horizontally since it hangs horizontal.

A couple of years ago I passed on my Dad's vintage Craftsman open end wrenches to my son who had purchased his first car. Since that time I've been using a backup set of 20 year old Husky wrenches but when these Milwaukee ratcheting combo wrenches went on sale I jumped on them. It was a good decision as they are built to last and feel "right" in my hands. The MAX BITE open end design provides a secure grip and the fine (144) tooth gearing and double-stacked pawls allow the ratchets to operate in the tightest of quarters (2.5 degrees arc swing). Keep 'em locked up or your friends, family, aquaintances and co-workers will walk away with them!

These wrenches are excellent tools. I've been using them for a couple of months. The quality is top-notch and the combination of open-end wrench and ratcheting functionality is very useful to me. The grip on the wrenches is surprisingly comfortable. All-in-all a well-designed and manufactured tool. The "Max bite" grip on the open-end dramatically improves the wrench's grip on small nuts and bolts. When small fasteners are torqued on tight, I sometimes have difficulty getting them loose without rounding off the points on the hex heads. The max bite really increases the probability that I can get the nut loose without damaging the heads. The wrenches come in a very useful carrying case. I put mine in one of the drawers (22.25 wide x 16.75 deep) in my toolbox and it fits perfectly with the companion case for the SAE set (see photo).

These wrenches are excellent tools. I've been using them for a couple of months. The quality is top-notch and the combination of open-end wrench and ratcheting functionality is very useful to me. I bought a 1/2+9/16 combination ratcheting wrench a couple of years ago and I've long wanted to get an entire set. Now I have it. The "Max bite" grip on the open-end dramatically improves the wrench's grip on small nuts and bolts. When these fasteners are torqued on tight, I sometimes have difficulty getting them loose without rounding off the points on the hex heads. The max bite really increases the probability that I can get the nut loose without damaging the heads. The wrenches come in a very useful carrying case. I have been nothing but impressed with all my Milwaukee tools and this set of wrenches is no exception. They’re heavy duty and beautiful at the same time. They nicely fit in your hand and are very functional with the many ratcheting positions and the extra notch-out in the open end of the wrench. I have both the standard and metric sets and use them on a regular basis. I also really like the large ID numbers that allow you to see the wrench you want easily. I’m getting older and have to grab glasses so many times just to see what wrench I’m getting, no longer! They’re a little pricey but this will be the last set of wrenches like this you ever have to buy.
