how long is the drill from the end of the shank to the tip

Please note that the answers to this question are for the 7/16 in bit only although they come up when searching other sizes. Smaller diameters are proportionally smaller. The 5/16 in bit makes 1" maximum depth holes.

Can this be used for concrete?

I seriously doubt it! I use these for wood and even for metal, but they break easily. I can't imagine using them on concrete or brick.

Can this drill 3/8 thick Ar500 steel?

Not sure specifically about Ar500 steel but it went through 1/2 thick steel mounted on my front axle on my 4x4. You couldn't hardly tell the bit had been used after two holes.
